Amaranthe - To Release New Album In 2024

Amaranthe announce The Catalyst, their eighth full length instalment that will see the light of the day on February 23rd 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be available digitally and in different physical formats including CD, Vinyl, and a 2CD special edition.

Olof Mörck commented: "So at last it is official! This has been a long time in the making, and more effort went into this album than any previous Amaranthe record. You have already gotten a taste of what’s to come on ‘Damnation Flame’, but as the most varied and eclectic Amaranthe album to date, expect the unexpected! We cover a lot of musical ground on The Catalyst, but the core of what we are about creatively is completely intact. It will be immediately obvious that you are listening to Amaranthe, as much as it will be immediately obvious that this is both a leap forward as well as a step up. Can’t wait for all of you to hear what we have been cooking, as well as seeing us perform these pristine new songs on the road SOON!"

I'll absolutely not listen to a single track, since I hate this band - but why the fuck is it being announced more than six months before the release date? Ridiculous.

Is Fading Like a Flower the Roxette song? That's not a bad song at all.

I am not a fan either, but some of you guys need to understand that bands like these do not write music for you. They have an established formula that works for them, despite being repetitive and boring to some. Just because a band doesn't make the genre you like or if they change musical direction doesn't mean they have to disband.

I've been critical of the band in the past but Damnation Flame isn't too bad actually.

hmmmmmm
I like the energy of the first 3 Amaranthe albums. Nowadays, it's generic as hell and that's saying something seeing as how generic they already were. I'll give it a shot but probably won't spin it a second time.

I have a feeling on release this album won't get a good reception, but hey, some people might actually like it. I myself however, am not expecting to be blown away by it, but if the band themselves are happy with the final product, then that's all that matters I guess. I myself however, am not expecting to be blown away by it.
