On September 6th 2024, British trio 40 Watt Sun will put out their fourth long player dubbed Little Weight . Recorded at Holy Mountain Studios in London in December 2023. Engineering and mixing was undertaken by Chris Fullard, who was assisted by Stanley Gravett, before Adam Gonsalves mastered the tracks in Portland, Oregon.

The first single sounds more like Wider Than The Sky than it does Perfect Light. I like Perfect Light, but would love a return to the doomier sound.

Aw yes. Gonna kick my seasonal depression in full with this shit once it drops in eaerly fall. <3
Looking forward to it. The song hints at more distorsion like on Wider Than The Sky as MeloDeathViking. But still sounds more rooted in singer/songwriter stuff. A bit more upbeat and bright though. Which is nice but I personally prefer a bleaker sound. We'll see how the rest of the album is. His voice is still perfect though.

Last time I saw 40 Watt Sun was at Roadburn where they had two sets. One the second, acoustic, set someone jokingly said near the end "Hey play some Warning".

Patrick Walker was like "hahaha, fuck off mate".
