Well, instead of limiting our football talk to just the American Metalstormers thread, I decided to just make a topic about it so that everyone can be included.
My favorite football team is the Seahawks and my favorite player is either Lofa Tatupu or Ken Hamlin. My team got bitch slapped by the Bears recently, but we did suffer from significant injuries.
Anyways, who's your favorite team and player?
Who do you guys see going to the Superbowl this year? It's kinda hard to predict because if a key player gets an injury, the team is basically screwed. I think the Colts have a good chance of finally making it, and will either play the Seahawks or the Bears. I doubt that the Steelers will repeat this year because they haven't looked all that great. Well, I can only hope.

Anyone see the Panthers game? Most embarrassing thing I've ever seen.
No I didn't, but I briefly heard something about them on Football Night in America. Now that I think about it, I don't even think they showed highlights from that game lol. What happened?
We were shut out 17-0 until late in the 4th quarter. When I say late, I mean with 23 seconds left. It was the single worst game I've ever watched.

I hate the Steelers so goddamn much. They kicked our ass today and we only had 1 minute of offense in the 3rd quarter. This ruined my day.
lol Tom Brady had 3 TDs, 0 INTs, and a 105 QB rating. The funny thing is that it was his worst game of the year and his rating actually went down.

The Bears - Packers game is halfway over, and I'm pretty sure the Bears can fire their whole offense. They are all worthless.
Oh, and Tom Brady can suck my balls. I don't think that can be stated enough.

Griese did a fine job I thought; he practically won the game for the Bears. He'll getter better with each game.

Carolina pulls through...barely. We've got to get our offense going if we're going to do anything this year.

Griese did what Grossman couldn't, which was keep his cool and slowly make progress. It won the game so I guess it will do, but the position still needs someone with some bang. For a supposed running team, the Bears could really use a decent running back as well. Benson had his moments, but I would like the average yards per carry to be over 2.
Post: 420. I think I better celebrate this one, but how???

The Seahawks game was one of the most pathetic games I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot because their previous game was also pathetic. On our opening drive, the snap went bad for an attempted punt, a Saint recovered it, then got tackled and fumbled it towards our goal, and that repeated twice before they recovered again in our endzone. Bush then proceeded to rape us on almost every play he ran, and then in the fourth quarter, when we were 4th and 5, Holmgren decided to run our FB, who used to be the third string RB (Strong retired ) and needless to say, we turned the ball over on downs.
Oh, and Alexander is fucking worthless. Our FB had more rushing yards than him.

I saw that. What's going on with Seattle this year?
Carolina played the best game I've seen this year. Vinnie Testaverde played pretty well considering his age and how long he's been with the team (4 days). The bad thing is, this next week is our bye week then we play the Colts. Not looking forward to that.

I'm not sure, maybe lack of focus. We're moving players around constantly, and that may have something to do with our problems. Either that, or just plain bad luck.
We really need to put Seneca Wallace, our backup QB, as our starting wide receiver. Holmgren puts him out there as a WR every once in a while and he always makes spectacular catches, including the 29 yarder that I have no clue how he grabbed. Al Michaels, John Madden, and the Seahawks owner all said that they know Wallace would be a pro bowl receiver if he got the chance.
And about Testaverde - I think he's going to be in the league forever, or at least until he becomes injured, which I hope doesn't happen :/

I watched only one season, one when Tampa Bay won it. Funny, I started supporting them when the playoff started only because I liked their name

It was pretty good last year, well up until the point where the Bears lost the Super Bowl...

lol Randy Moss made like a 60 yard one-handed TD catch in between 2 defenders. They even took Brady out in the 3rd quarter because he already had over 300 yards and 5 or 6 TDs at that time, but the backup threw an interception so they put Brady back in.
That's just fucking ridiculous. Too bad I got drunk last night and slept in through the first half.
Oh, and the Seahawks dominated the Rams. Both QBs were injured as fuck, so they both sucked. Our defense won the game for us - Tapp had 4 sacks, and he even got one or two sacks after leaving the game with an injury, and then coming back with a fucking massive brace on his wrist.

Every Patriots game is like that, with the exception of the Colts game. This year is about 4 teams. You have New England, Dallas, Green Bay and Indianapolis. I'm hoping one of the last 3 have it in them to be NE.

Well, my home team has bragging rights over your team at the moment then. Even though you're going to playoffs and we're not, and you have a winning record, and support of your fans, and a good running back, and a solid quarterback...........

I would be supporting my home team the Falcons cept they lost some of my respect this year, for some obvious reasons, so I'm pulling for the Browns. I'm mostly into college football though. To me, its more raw, exciting, and challenging.

I'm actually hoping the Browns will fall apart. One of my good friends played football with Derek Anderson, Cleveland's quarterback, and completely tore him apart in Summer camp. But since my friend is about 6 inches shorter, Derek Anderson got picked instead, and now he's having a breakout season. It's annoying.
