I liked the Ensiferum one, but the SA one i didnt. Havent heard the Edguy one. They wont only play their new stuff anyway, but just two or three songs.

05.10.2009 - 05:38 Written by insanity.peppers on 05.10.2009 at 00:39 I know what you mean about getting into the spirit. Ive been disappointed on almost all my favourite bands recent releases recently. So many are changing directions to a wider audience, which isnt appealing for me. Ive been finding (not many) new bands that are different just to get back into spirit.

It's not all bad haha. There are still a decent array of good albums from this year.

If you all didn't see, Decapitated are back! They were pretty good with Nile back in '07 I thought. This time they're playing with Origin, Misery Index and Psycroptic. Pretty decent collaboration methinks. Here is the tour entry anyway.

23.10.2009 - 05:20 Written by Raiden on 22.10.2009 at 17:30 I don't mind Decapitated but I'm not exactly a huge fan either. I'm really keen on seeing Origin though. Really didn't expect to see them coming down this way any time soon.

23.10.2009 - 09:17 Written by Eternal Flames on 23.10.2009 at 05:20 Yeah my thoughts mirror yours regarding Origin. I wasn't that into Decapitation a couple of years ago, but they put on a surprisingly impressive live show back then.

23.10.2009 - 13:19 Written by Raiden on 23.10.2009 at 09:17 I'm only familiar with a handful of Decapitated's work but it's just never really grabbed me that much. I guess they might be one of those bands where the music works much better live. I'd imagine Misery Index will be great live as well.

Fuck it's been getting hot these last few days. Anyone else getting these temperatures or is it just central Victoria suffering through this early Summer?

Resident of south-eastern Melbourne here and yep, it's been hot alright. Fairly high temperatures and no wind to speak of. I was looking forward to warmer weather a while ago but I think I'm over it now.

Haha yeah it's like that. Everyone was bitching about the cold then all of a sudden it's 20 degrees hotter than it was and we're all complaining about the heat! Apparently we have another El Nino and we'll get next to no rain this summer and pretty much constant bloody heat. Laaame.

It wouldn't have been so bad if we kinda got a gradual increase in the temperature/weather. But here it went from like 18-20 degree, rainy days to consecutive 30+ degree days Despite that I do prefer cooler weather though I don't find the current weather too bad. But hell, once we get to the 40 degree weather... oh fuck, somebody kill me then!

Exactly, it really jumped upon us! The DSE even had to cancel all their back-burning because of fire outbreaks and the sudden rise in temperature. It would be a bit cooler in Melbourne than here wouldn't it EF? It's still 38 degrees where I am and it's nearly 5:30 in the afternoon. Swan Hill and Mildura got temperatures over 40 today! All in all this is a pretty lame Spring.

Ah, it's been around 30-35 here these past few days. Hasn't really hit above 35 yet. It's been damn annoying though as I've had my exams the past few weeks and the gymnasium they're held in seems as though it doesn't have air-conditioning. Usually feels like it's about 38-40 degrees in there But if this weather is any indication of what the upcoming summer will be like, I'm definitely not looking forward to it.

Even that is still pretty hot for Melbourne though. Didn't you have a day which was the hottest November one ever the other day? South Australia have had heat records broken too apparently. That's not very good for your academia if you're put under such conditions for exams! Basically all subjects ride on exams! (I had one this semester which was worth 70% of my overall mark) Yeah I'm dreading this summer too. If this is the result of global warming the future is going to be shit!

Yeah we did have the hottest day or hottest consecutive days in November recently. I think the maximum it got to one day was 35 but it was about 4 days in a row that were above 30 degrees. As for my exams, there was one girl that suffered heat exhaustion and had to be carried out of the venue. Now whether she did actually hit heat exhaustion or whether she just wanted an excuse not to have to sit her exam, I'm not too sure. Case in point though, it was bloody hot in there!

Haha well if she did fake it it sounded like a pretty good way of getting out of an exam Whatever happened to the rule of not having school on days which were too hot? lol

It's cooled down a lot around here this week. Definitely a nice change from the mid 30 degree weather. By the way for those going to screamfest, it looks like Destruction have been dropped off the tour. Apparently their sideshows weren't selling too well so their entire Australian tour including screamfest got cancelled. I really hope this doesn't lead to more bands being dropped.

Yeah it was alright for a few days there. Got a bit warm today though What?! Destruction were one of the bands I was most looking forward to! This is an outrage!

It is pretty ridiculous. There's still over a month until the sideshows anyway so I'm sure more people would have purchased tickets in the meantime. And they could have just cancelled their sideshows but kept them on the screamfest lineup. I was really looking forward to seeing Destruction myself. However, I wonder whether the other bands will get longer setlists now or whether they'll just finish that first day short since Destruction were scheduled to play last.

Yeah exactly. Not only would more tickets have been sold leading up the the event but lots would've been sold on the door too you'd think. In the last three years Kreator have had two successful tours and Sodom have had one good one. Why would they think that Destruction wouldn't do the same? They'd better replace them. We bought our tickets on the premise that Destruction would be there. As I said they were one of the major drawcards getting me to the festival.
