Concerning the style of Antipope (http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/band.php?band_id=5765&bandname=Antipope)

Antipope's initial style was "black metal" (between 2004-2008) but already on "Excessive Use of Faith" EP (released in 2009) the style had changed towards "progressive metal".
On "Desert", released 2010, the style is definitely best described as "progressive metal", since they had a lot different characteristics from various styles, incl. "death metal" "black metal" "heavy metal" "melodic metal". Also in 2010 the lyrical style changed to much wider subjects than the typical "black metal" stuff.

On "House of Harlot" album, released in 2011, Antipope further progressed and added elements of "industrial metal", "doom metal" and "gothic metal", while "black metal" and "death metal" was less and less prominent.

So, here is a style timeline suggestion for Antipope:
2004-2009 "progressive black metal" (or simbly "black metal")
2010- progressive metal

I think that's perfectly fine now. As you probably guessed from my original post, it's not that easy a task to describe the style of the band in question with just a tag or two.

Melodic death metal should be their style for all years. Just skimmed through each album out of interest and none are reminiscent of typical death metal barring the vocals and guitar tone; i.e. frequent use of harmonies and lead guitar over rhythm their consistent style. Also they're based in Gothenburg, and prominent style there is fairly conspicuous. I say they're melodic death not Gothenburg because they lack the tempo and drum related aspects for that categorisation.

Evocation's old stuff is pure old school death metal. nothing more nothing less. Especially their demos

Concerning the style of Bath. (http://metalstorm.net/bands/band.php?band_id=4780&bandname=Baht)

As of now, there is no entry about their genre. According to their homepage, they play "oriental" and "progressive" metal. However, it is obviously DM driven.

I think their genre(s) should be:
2007- Oriental Progressive Death Metal
(If you use the "oriental" tag. Otherwise it works without.)

No exact official entries on their style as of yet, with their Facebook page stating that they're playing rock n' roll. However this term is evidently tongue-in-cheek judging by their debut album and songs, as their music can be described as "Melodic Death Metal."

Avantasia could use an update in their genre description. Yes, we can agree on the Symphonic power metal thing, but since the Lost In Space Ep's they have been very Hard Rock inspired, and that can be listened to on their present albums. So if you could add Hard-rock (2007-), it would be more specific and awesome thank you

Dir en grey needs a genre add or change.. they really havent played J Rock since 2006. More accurate genre would be Progressive Death metal / Deathcore .. something like that.

Album submission for Within Temptation got mistakenly accepted as TBA.

ScoX lacks genre description. According to their HP, they play brutal death metal (2010-), which I think is a pretty accurate description. From what I can see, that should be enough to activate the band.

Uhm...that doesn't make any sense. How can a band be called one thing in just the US and go by an original name everywhere else? That's a rhetorical question btw, I read the article but I'm unsure of how to go with this, this is a rather unique situation. The band that is pressing for legal action is a Japanese band so I fail to see why a Japanese band would mandate they have to change their name in the US but not in Japan or even the rest of the world. I guess we'll have to see if they are going to name change their official sites to match Ghost B.C. or not...
