Well, instead of limiting our football talk to just the American Metalstormers thread, I decided to just make a topic about it so that everyone can be included.
My favorite football team is the Seahawks and my favorite player is either Lofa Tatupu or Ken Hamlin. My team got bitch slapped by the Bears recently, but we did suffer from significant injuries.
Anyways, who's your favorite team and player?
Who do you guys see going to the Superbowl this year? It's kinda hard to predict because if a key player gets an injury, the team is basically screwed. I think the Colts have a good chance of finally making it, and will either play the Seahawks or the Bears. I doubt that the Steelers will repeat this year because they haven't looked all that great. Well, I can only hope.

LOL seriously...I wonder what team will be unlucky enough to get Sean Alexander. xD We also got Jeb Putzier instead of Crumpler, and I don't know what to think of that. Jeb is much younger and healthy, but Crumpler is actually good. lol

yeah, crumpler's good at everything. from what i understand putzier is one of the best at blocking.
and i know who'd pick up alexander... oakland!

yeah, 2 injured running backs and no defense. Good call Cinci.
Speaking of Cinci, what's the Chad Johnson situation? I honestly don't keep close track of football during the off season.

he wants traded as far as i know, but i guess the bungles refuse to do it. i don't pay attention to them much. i can't stand that franchise because they're nothing but a bunch of whining convicts.

Fuck you!
It's bad to be a Raiders fan these days, ever since Rich Gannon threw the game in that Super Bowl against the Tampa Bay Fucs.

@stigmatized - it could be worse; you could live in atlanta.
that team is screwed for the next few seasons. they lost crumpler, hall wants out, and the last time i checked they don't have a starting QB. vick is obviously all-powerful, because he can ruin an entire organization's future with a flick of the wrist.

@harbinger - I'm actually about 2 hours from Atlanta. The Braves are basically my home team for baseball, so thankfully I hate the MLB. I hope the Falcons have another terrible year, since I've hated that team as long as I can remember.

lol, although i barely avoided offending you, which is typical for me, there's no denying that they're a pretty bad organization.
i have to say that i'm looking forward to seeing if the pats can be as good next year. i don't think they'll go undefeated through the regular season because they've lost a few key players. can't say i want them to be good again because i hate that team, but it's still something to follow. i guess pittsburgh is meeting with eugene wilson (one of their starting safeties), and i really hope we sign him. on one side they'll lose him, and on the other side we'll get another good safety.

An NFL thread? I'm shocked!
My team is the Titans. I was a long time Oilers fan and when the franchise moved I stuck with them. No, I'm not going to be a Texans fan...
I don't have much hope for my team this season or for the forseeable future. But at least our defense is fun to watch...

Did you guys hear about the fight between Ken Lucas and Steve Smith? haha I guess they're both hurt now and probably won't return to camp.
Steve Smith is fucking retarded.
Oh, and Favre's new 20 million deal to not play is fucking annoying. BRETT FAVRE FUCK OFF

Brett Farve should retire. I would rather retire after having a good season rather then retiring after a bad season

It's hard to say because Favre had one of his best seasons last year, so it's almost common sense to assume he can still produce this year. But, he's old and needs to stop fucking Aaron Rodgers over. I hate when talent goes to waste.

They've exchanged words before. He broke Lucas' nose and he's been suspended for 2 games. It was a fucking stupid move for sure, glad to see he's thinking of the team.
I have no words for the Brett Favre situation, it's ridiculous.

You don't know much about it or you have never heard of it? It's all over the internet and ESPN.
I have a bad feeling that the Raiders are going to be the comeback team this year. Last year their defense was pretty good, and they got better by adding Dante Hall. Plus, you have the obvious additions of JaMarcus Russell, Darren McFadden, and Javon Walker on offense, and they have the easiest schedule in the NFL.
I can't wait til I get Madden 09

I'm confused by some of the recent coaching decisions: Kurt Warner over Matt Leinart, Matt Ryan over Joey Harrington, Brodie Croyle over Damon Huard, Kevin Smith over Tatum Bell (now released LOL), and Maurice Morris over Julius Jones?!?! Uhm...okey..

LMAO so Ocho Cinco will be on the back of his jersey? It'll look like the XFL xD
BTW, Rudi Johnson was cut today. The Bengals runny game is fucked.
All of the cuts have been made already. So far it looks good for the Seahawks, but I don't get why they got rid of Larry Triplett already. Weird
Keep an eye out for WR Jordan Kent. He was born in Saudi Arabia, starred at Oregon, and is now the Seahawks' #3 receiver, that is until Branch and Engram return. He dominated in track and he's been our best receiver so far in the preseason.

My picks for tomorrow:
Cincinnati vs Baltimore
- Cincinnati has no running game, and their defense is even worse
NY Jets vs Miami
- Both teams are shitty, but the Jets actually have some hope
Kansas City vs New England
- lol
Houston vs Pittsburgh
- I don't think the Texans will ever be good.
Jacksonville vs Tennessee
- Vince Young sucks, and is hurt. The Jags are going to run all over them.
Detroit vs Atlanta
- There's a chance Atlanta might not win a game this year.
Seattle vs Buffalo
- The Buffalo QB's suck. Look for Jordan Kent to be the breakout WR this year.
Tampa Bay vs New Orleans
- The Saints' offense this year is just fucking ridiculous
St Lous vs Philadelphia
- The injuries shouldn't affect Philly too much
Dallas vs Cleveland
- Cleveland is close, but still not good enough to make it to the post season. Derek Anderson hasn't won me over yet
Carolina vs San Diego
- I hate San Diego, but I just can't see Carolina beating them... I hope they do though
Arizona vs San Francisco
- Arizona is overrated, and San Francisco has improved with JT O'Sullivan starting over fucking Alex Smith. Edgerrin James is gettng old, and I don't necessarily trust Kurt Warner's old ass starting at QB.
Edit: Dammit, I initially picked Arizona to win, but I edited my post later. :/
Chicago vs Indianapolis
- Manning's injury shouldn't affect them too much, but it will be a close game
Minnesota vs Green Bay
- If Rodgers sucks, then Grant will just run over Minnesota. Peterson will try to do the same thing, but Green Bay's defense should contain him to around 100 yards. There will be no Minnesota passing game.
Edit: I just now found out that Ryan Grant is hurt. Fuck! He's on my fantasy team!
Denver vs Oakland
- Both teams have improved, but Oakland will win. They're just more balanced on every end of the spectrum. Jay Cutler has DIABEEETUUUSSSS
