Even here it has a 7.6, so somebody likes it.

I actually love it! No, it's not Kreator, not at all. But it's still a great piece of music. And all I have to say to I_Die_Often is that this surely isn't the album you should look up first if you wanna hear Kreator.

i didnt say no one likes it or that it is a bad album. i say that it is not kreators best, not even a good kreator album. but not bad. kreator is a thrash metal band and you should check their thrash era to say if you like them or not. go on their myspace, listen to extreme aggression and people of the lie and "see" their big difference with any endorama song.

Hugely underrated album, which isn't given it's due because it's not thrash played by a legendary thrash band. Unlike ''Outcast'', which I found to be a largely boring album 3 or 4 songs aside, "Endorama" has lots of memorable, and catchy songs. Some people couldn't take the drastic shift in style, but for those who can appreciate the style of music on offer here, it is a very high quality album. "Soul Eraser", "Shadowland" and "Golden Age" are great metal songs, if not thrash ones. And "Everlasting Flame" is a beautiful, but dark, gothic sounding song. And the rest of the songs, while being fairly upbeat, which is unheard of for Kreator, are still memorable, and proved they could write quality songs of a totally different genre to the one they're most famous for.

It's a far cry from thrash masterpieces like "Pleasure To Kill", "Terrible Certainty" and "Coma Of Souls", but treated on it's own merits, it is a good, sometimes great album with a high quality most of the way through it's length. I definitely like this album a lot, even if I do prefer the aforementioned thrash classics slightly more! lol

Listen to "Endless Pain", "Pleasure To Kill", "Terrible Certainty", "Extreme aggression" or "Coma Of Souls". They're all great Thrash albums.
Forget about anything this band released in the 90s. They sucked at that time.

Probably the best Kreator album. Not for everyone, but for me it's the highlight of their career - what happened next was trying to win back "old fans", which is always a sad thing to see.

The same can be said for any album, what many concider the worst, is the best in someone elses eyes... or ears in this case.

I think this album was a great thing for Kreator. New direction, new sound. Afterwards thay have just been repeating themselves over and over again. They should've experimented more after this album. Also, hearing Endorama made me aware of the existence of Lacrimosa, which is something for I'll always be grateful to Kreator.

A very weird album. I never liked it.

By the way, I never understood how Kreator could go from a masterpiece like "Coma Of Sould" and release a piece of shit like "Renewal" only a few years later.

i guess it is called "taking the (wrong) mainstream direction"

[really i don't know, probably after many thrash albums and after reaching the top (with their last 2 -extreme agr and coma of souls) they just wanted to change and experiment. it's the only logical explanation -among with the labels trying to make them more mainstream but i am not so sure about that]

Thrash was dead in the 90s. All bands sucked.
When new modern shit came (grunge, industrial or whatever other unlistenable crap), the bands took the wrong direction. Instead of sticking to their sound and do what they were great at, they chose to incorporate modern (industrial or whatever) ideas in their sound, changing it way too much. Thus, they alienated their old fans and gained very few new ones (mainstream people still saw them as Thrash bands and didn't even check the new material). It was a stupid, futureless move that left many bands with no audience. They dug their own grave by trying to follow trends.
Anyway, apart for Black Metal and Death Metal, the 90s was a very bad period for metal. And Thrash has been more affected than any other genre. We saw some kind of revival in the last decade and I'm pleased to see something like that, even if Thrash is still far away from its golden days. And Kreator were, Imo, one of the catalyst of this Thrash comeback with albums like "Violent Revolution" and "Enemy Of God". And they have my respect for it.
To be honest, I hate everything Kreator released in the 90s. Imo, it just plain sucks and it is not the real Kreator. But I don't dismiss the post-2000 albums only because I hate what the band did in the 90s and think they were completely lost. I just ignore the 90s, as far as Kreator is concerned.

well i agree on everything you said. the only difference is that i dont believe kreator's mid-era is a completely shitty era. i take the good songs and forget the other. to be honest, i may be younger and so i can say that i think that it may was good for Kreator that they did this break from thrash metal. they came back stronger and thirsty for success. and they've done it great till today. they are the only ones IMO who have done it so good....

I am listening to this album and it is much better than i could imagine. it's not a "10" surely, but it has "beautiful" songs, awesome lyrics (as always) and generally creates a very nice feeling. i am a huge fan of this band and i expected shit from this album but with each listening i like it even more! awesome!

what i love in this song are the parts:

"You're only seventeen but in your heart you're feeling old-Escape to somewhere far away far away from here" (you are young and so you still can)
"You're thirty four and some old friends became only memories-And dream of somewhere far away far away from here" (just dreaming now... cant do anything more)
"You're fifty six now just a shadow of your broken self-You'll never see a better place far away from here" (so now you REALIZE that the dream never happened).

Not one of the best songs? Gawd, I have to disagree with you there! lol I love the dark, mournful atmosphere of that song. Totally agreed on the lyrics though! They are true, and very haunting. Mille is a fantastic lyricist. xD

i like more their more energetic songs. i dont know which i like the most till now as i've not completed the listenings of the album. i'll post again when i finish with the album and i may have changed my opinion, who knows? (for now, i like a lot Endorama, Shadowland (most thrashy song of the album i think), Future King. generally i like all the songs. i cannot find a bad song on the album which is awesome!).

Well..I still think this is a really good album, no matter what you guys say.

As someone who loves gothic metal, I say Kreator's try on the genre is pretty good. Definitely better than the last album they put out, but this sound is still out of place for a band like Kreator.

true, this album would get more respect if it didn't have the Kreator name on it.

I see that nowadays this album has got more praise than back then. And here we are! Back in the "Underated/overated" game. I'm somewhere in between. This album wasn't major success for Kreator back then and it's not that much today as well. Mille himself kinda don't care about this album anymore and it's practically impossible to hear something from Endorama live.

This album is not bad. And that's pretty much all. Golden Age is good, Endorama is catchy, Shadowland is faster one, with little echo from the old days, the Chosen few is pleasant and Everlasting Flame is emotional and it's probably best track from the album. Rest is bland and pretty much melts together. Back in 1999 there were already much better gothic albums.

I'm genuinely confused about how to feel about this thing. Mille can't seem to decide if he wants so sound like himself, Ron Royce or Dave Mustaine, and neither does the music, which seems to go from late Coroner to some kind of gothic hard rock. Very confusing, but at least it was something different.

Two most experimental albums of Kreator which I couldn't figure out why they were juggling with so many genres -- Outcast and Endorama both have a sequential personality experimenting outside thrash, which for me, it was a good move when somewhat gothic and nu was on the rise. Both mashed in the sounds that Kreator couldn't fix it up and as you said, that led sounding oddly confusing.
