It's rare that an album cover and title can be so prophetic; Exodus were in the fast lane going into their fourth album Impact Is Imminent, riding the momentum for all it was worth. Slowly catching up with the band however was the weight of expectation that followed their success; it would see the band collide with it and be crushed under its weight for all the world to see.

It's predictable enough for an early Exodus album, but once again delivers the goods when you need them. The longer songs this time around seem to be the weaker spots of the album, and are also where repetition seems a bit too relied upon, to the point where the instrumentation and vocal delivery just drags. Nonetheless, songs such as the title track, "A.W.O.L" and the short but sweet "Thrash under Pressure" show the band hadn't yet lost their mojo.

Metal Rasputin
Noticeably weaker than the first three, but still pretty good. They sure haven't changed their groovy style too much over the years, they just got better in the 2000's. The guitar tone here on the other hand is one of their best.

Edit. Oh yeah, and "Only Death Decides" kills.
