Overkill has really unique time changes and break-downs that you dont see in many other bands which is sweet.

Ok, Now Ive heard Under The Influence, these albums just seem to be getting better and better. I love the vocal style of Overkill... The song structure is also pretty cool, what with all the ''chant'' type vocals every now and again...

One of my favorite thrash metal bands, and one of the best thrash metal bands period. Feel the Fire is an excellent debut album. Years of Decay and Taking Over are my two favorite albums, but then again Feel the Fire will always have that special place!

I recently got into these dudes! and wow they're pretty good! One ov the oldest Thrashers along with Artillery [Danish Thrash band] I am most familiar with the early stuff like Feel The Fire and Taking Over . I hear a few tracks from Under The Influence ......But every release after that, my ears are virgin to, I have not heard at all .......But after that release, it cuts into the time period where Thrash music was dying [where only Pantera stood strong] so maybe it isn't worth checking out Except maybe The Years Of Decay .
But anyway, Overkill are very good old school band

Can't wait for their new album to be out! Under The Influence and Horrorscope are my favorites of theirs. That isn't to say that I have listened to all their stuff yet.

Does anyone know what songs Overkill plays live? Lately I mean, because they're probably coming here in March (also on their homepage) so I'd like to know if I have a change of hearing my favourite songs from Killbox :p

Ah yes, I remember creating this thread.
So far, I have only one Overkill album in my collection: "Taking Over". However, I do plan to buy their albums "Feel The Fire", "Under The Influence", and "The Years of Decay". Luckily, my birthday is coming up soon, so I can order them then.

The Years of Decay has some of their best material, but it has too many slow parts. My favorites are Horrorscope and Under the Influence. I've noticed that most of their material isn't worth buying though lol.

On stage a perfect band.
Their albums weren't always that good. The first four albums are IMO still the best ones

Fuck yeah, overkill is one of the best thrash bands, one of my fav bands ^^ I love the way how they make music, pure fucking old school thrash metal...
the only thing which don't like me much in the last albums (last 10 years more or less) is the reference to "Jesus and religion" in some songs on their albums (ex. Let us Pray, Hellish Pride, etc.)... anyway Overkill fucking rocks!!

Any "Necroshine" fans here? No not the album, the song.
Most of the Necroshine album is watered down post-thrash/groove metal, but the title track may well be one of the MOST badass songs that I have ever graced upon my ears. It's so simple, yet it is still just such a crushing song. That freaky "helicopter-esque" sounding introduction explodes right into a frenzy of distorted guitar riffery....cue pause for drum fill...then BOOM, the sinister and fucking HEAVY main riff commences. One of the best groove metal songs ever IMO. Easily as good as anything Pantera has ever put together.

Oh, your a lucky fuck. I'd kill to see either of those bands live. I watched the Wrecking Everything DVD, and Overkill looked like they really put on a hell of a show. Speaking of "Necroshine", that was a major standout for me on that W.E. DVD, with the strobe lights during the introduction.
I'd probably just throw up everywhere if I heard that song live..or that band
