With all due respect man The US doesn't lack the balls, you can call them whatever you want baby killers, murders, but if its something theyr are NOT is cowards. They've proven that over and over for about 2 hundred and something years now, in successful campaigns. Black_god, I feel for you man. I've been following the whole situation as best as I can, buyt I muts say, for everything that is going on bad, I feel it is for the good. To me, it seems that the leaders of Iran have no idea actually how to repress people correctly, instead their doing it FAR too blatantly. What I believe is bound to happen is that people in Iran are going to get pissed off at all of this corruption and oppression. Sure it's been reduced to student protests (as far as I've last heard), and to be honest, that usually leads to nothing, considering college students tend to not represent the true voice of a country (not to mention they tend to be very idealistic while living in the isolated microcosm that is college). However, with any hope, things will change in Iran for the better, unless it breaks down into civil war.

Also, the reason why the US is not entering Iran are several reasons. The first, most obvious reason would be that the US is already bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan. A second reason might be our own economic situation, perhaps our worse only since the great depression of the 1930's. It's a similar reason to why Britain and France did nothing during Germany's invasion of Poland during the beginning of world war 2, they just did not want to commit the money to it.

Third reason why the US probably wont send in military aid is because of the checkered past between the US and Iran. We were responsible for placing the shah in power in Iran, which the people of Iran then overthrew inb place of the current system. It may not really be in the US' best interest to try and directly aid the protesters, asthe peole, of Iran may not like the idea of a US associated governemtn, which Iranians may perceive as a puppet government, to which iran will countereact with fundamentalism.

There's no need to speak these words... GWB was great, and Im so happy about his works in Afghanistan and Iraq. yes you take some advantages cause of this but all in all I liked it. but USA did some very wrong things either. for example they were Saddam's best friend when he invaded Iran. , and it was USA and Saudi Arabia who supported terorrists in afghanisatan for years. it was USA who invaded Japan with Nuclear bombs, it was USA who invaded Vietnam , it was USA who killed a lot of black ppl in their revolution or somthing. it was USA who stole Mexican (Texas and .. ) lands for their oil. and ....

Furthermore, the "shock and awe" of it all pushed the Japanese to surrender quickly, rather than continue to fight. as horrible as Hiroshima and Nagasaki were, the body count in both places combined pales to the body counts at Leningrad, Stalingrad, or the final siege in Berlin... and a series of firebombings (a la Dresden), followed by invasion of ground forces is what would have happened had the A-bomb not been used. 300,000 lives lost is horrible (no worse than Nanking, mind you. somehow that doesn't seem to come up often when the Japanese are portrayed is victims when revisiting WW2)... the body count had the same conventional invasion plan as was used in Europe been followed in Japan would have resulted in millions of deaths. We didn't invade Texas. Texas was it's own territory and had been at war with Mexico. Texas opted to join the US. And we bought the rest of the land after defeating Mexico in another war. If you are referring to our Civil war, 300,000 WHITE (and some black) Northerners died fighting the South to FREE the black slaves. Slavery was a horrible thing,(and it was a practice started on this continent by EUro-colonials, continued by us after our independence for <90 years, before we ended it with the Civil war. I'm glad we ended it, ashamed we practiced it, and bemused that it never comes up that it was black africans who enslaved fellow black africans and sold them to Whitey ... and the practice there hasn't ended.


Of course the US isn't perfect in it's domestic affairs, nor it's policy abroad. but compared to other hegemonic states, I think our track record is pretty damned good thank you very much.

With all the info i have, which is not much, what i can conclude, is that on Iran it's happening what happened in Venezuela on 2002. the current goverment is singing treaties that the USA, not as a country but as the imperialistic enterprises that it represents, doesn't like (no, it's not a conspiracy theory, learn history and you'll know what im talking about), so they are creating an internal chaos to latter remove the current government and impose one of his puppets.

i won't argue any of your other points, but the atomic bombings do more damage than the "conventional" bombings because of the radiation effects which kill animals, plants, and even years later, humans who had nothing to do with the wars. wikipedia says 334 people have died of cancer and 231 of leukemia caused by the bombs' radiations.

as for the rest, i can't really comment as i don't have as in-depth knowledge of US history(nor am i required to )

@Fhuesc i'm 100% sure there are more deaths, just that the state television of Iran keeps it on the hush-hush.. wouldn't be the first case for sure.

Well, actually today Iran is a mixture of Medieval era in Europe and Stalin era in Soviet Union.
But just let's say Iranian are not same as Iraq, Afghanistan or Pakistan.. People (Iranian) don't kill each other. This is the government that is killing people and it calls for arms from Lebanon and some other Arab countries who previously helped them for terrorism activities.. So basically Iranian people (who are being killed in streets) are just asking (the fake Iranian) leader and government to bog off.. They want a secular governor, not a dictator.. Is there anything wrong with this?

Slow as fuck.. The speed of download/upload is about 2kb/s and I'm using ADSL..
Because they want people not being able to upload videos of these days to Youtube and social networks.. Using such websites with filter-blocker makes the speed slower.. So they want to make it even worse so that people don't upload the videos..
