Black Sabbath vs Heaven And Hell

Black Sabbaths the better song, as many people have said it's heavier, darker, Ozzy's better then Dio (Dio's awsome too though), but I had to vote for Heaven and Hell because it's the first metal song i've ever heard, and while I know that Black Sabbath is better, I still enjoy listening to Heaven and Hell more cause it brought me to metal .

Im even more partial towards heaven and hell now that ive seen it performed live by Dio & Sabbath. Cool.

Dio is pretty cool too. He gots that basic kind of high ,perky heavy metal voice , but Ozzy's tired kind of voice is still better in all those doom and heavy metal songs of their's and he was after all the first in Black Sabbath.

My opinion is that the name that this set up (- Ozzy, + Dio) will always be remebered is Black Sabbath. It's so much cooler than Heaven and Hell, which is kind of boring and suffers from serious lack of originality. What was the changing of name all about in the first place ? Didn't Dio manage to do long carrier even in Black Sabbath before the changing of name.

I prefer Black Sabbath because if there is a God of Metal excisting, it is Black Sabbath.
What would modern day metal be without them, think about that ?

I heard one song from Heaven & Hell. It was The Devil Cried. It was hard to say what music style it could be but it sounded like power metal very much.
Should i vote for power metal? No, for goodness' sake no!

The original is the best, the atmosphere is so much creepier. Heaven and Hell is classic too.

I voted for Heaven and Hell. Both are good songs, but Heaven and Hell is one of my favorites.

Black Sabbath by a mile. Heaven and Hell is a great song, but not nearly as memorable or revolutionary. It doesn't stick with you the way Black Sabbath does.

Heaven and Hell was way better than Black Sabbath. It was a way better album, also.

ozzy's voice compliments the music wonderfully and after seeing the band heaven and hell in concert listening to anything without ozzy doesnt do them justice

THANK YOU!!! Dio has all the build up and 'Heaven and Hell' from what I heard was the greatest Black Sabbath album, HA! Ozzy's voice made Sabbath what it is, with Dio... it was something else, something that I actually can not stand.

When comparing the songs AND the albums, Black Sabbath is way better. There is no competition.

I dont know, I picked both. They are both great songs, their is really not much simularity between the two though. Yes they both start slow and get faster, but that is really it.

I remain with the opinion that they are TWO separate bands and that I prefer Ozzy's vocals; however, I just bought the new album (and the DVD with two CDs, thought, what the hell, fuck it!). After the first listen... I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. For the most part, I never liked this kinda stuff with these vocals, but somehow it grew on me.

I would definitely recommend this new album!

Black Sabbath

I love both songs but i gotta go "Black Sabbath." It started a new genre

Heaven and Hell for sure. Black Sabbath is a classic, and one of the most influential songs in rock history, but it is ridiculously simple, and really not to impressive when looked at objectivley. Great tune, but not the masterpiece that it's made out to be.

Heaven And hell is a great song, but Black Sabbath is better: the music, the lyrics, the atmosphere, the originality, wow is a masterpiece dude
