Black Metal vs Death Metal

Death Metal wins for me, I just love DM vocals and aggressivity which I don't feel in BM, as BM is more of an evil atmosphere feel.

You like death only because of the growls and drumms LOL...there is a lot more to death metal than that...first i like it because it's technical...more technical than black...second...i prefer it as being the most brutal form of music manifestation...third...only here i will put the drumms and growls well...and guitars and whatever ...well...there is fourth...i don't like black metal that much anyway...small exeptions...

My vote wasnt for death metal as such but melodic death metal which is my favourite genre. Like I would choose Dark Tranquillity, Fate Turns Grey and At The Gates over Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Dismember, etc. any day. Black Metal isnt for off it aswell as I love the evil and cold atmoshere of the music but then in saying that alot of it is also blatant crap.

I vote for Black metal, cuz the black metal vocal is very "cursed". And Black metal has best drum sound, listen to Mother North you will see. I also like Death it seperate to genres which are brutal death and technical death, attractive with powerful sound. Though I choose black metal because of more a reason that I was wallowed in the story of black metal of Mayhem, Burzum than nothing to Death bands

I voted for death metal, because it's me favourite music style (including technical, brutal, melodic death etc). I can listen to it in all moods and it is still perfect for me. The solos are shrill, the riffs are harsh and I love it.

Black Metal easily wins for me. I like death metal too but there are just so many different styles of black metal. I love the atmosphere in bands like Darkthrone, Burzum, Xasthur, old Emperor, etc...

black metal no doubt, easy question since I don't enjoy much of death metal.

I wont vote, even though the vast majority of bands I love belong to the Black genre, some Death bands do just a to great job to be ignored.

Black metal, beacuse I enjoy a lot more than dm. Still there's a ot of DM bands that I like, but even more BM bands. I just like it better

but if I had to choose, definitly black metal, the atmosphere of it I like alot better.

Belphegor is definetly music I like, there are among my 10 favorite bands and 6 of those bands are heavy metal. I voted for black metal because I like BM atmosphere, but I hate their make up, Death metalheads are much more cooler then BM vampires

A little over half of my favorite bands are death metal, but I think that black metal is much more unique and it creates a better atmosphere. Therefore, I won't vote, cause I like thes genres equally.

Very difficult choice...
But I voted black metal because I am still unable to get hold of some death metal albums and have listened more to black metAL
But I like these genres equally and call them brothers.

death metal! becouse if you heard one BM band you heard them all! but i also love the DM growls! i love the gutar, bass and drums ... and most of all i love the lyrics!

i voted for death metal...black metal...well...except a few bands , black metal bands are too "dreamy" in a grim way..i mean..BM is a lot more about "fantasy" and stuff, while DM is pure agression, violence, brutality...not to mention the technique involved

Haha, I hate these polls! I always regret my vote! Of course I prefer Black metal, and I voted Death metal because I was into Death and Morbid Angel at that time.

@ Aronax: Everyone has the right to an opion but you need to actually know something about Black metal before saying that it all sounds the same. There are lots of different styles of Black Metal (raw, symphonic, depressive etc.)... so there are bands that sound NOTHING alike...

Ok, I am sorry you didn't recognise I wasn't serious, but only black metal I can listen is Dark Throne and bands like them, I really don't like fancy melodic BM bands because I think that is not Black Metal, I mean Dismal Euphony is everything but Black Metal, King Diamond is real black metal, Mercyful Fate and Venom are black metal but Dimmu Borgir is not even close, to me

@ Aronax: Dismal Euphony is symphonic/melo black metal, at least their earlier works were. And Mercyful Fate is not "real" black metal, they're something like "blackened heavy".

i definetely like DM a lot better Bm is good and evil and all but DM is so much more structured and awesome. listen to bands like cannibal corpse, cryptopsy, deicide, gorod, all these bands are awesome
