Toronto or Montreal I'd say. Calgary is good for a strong local scene, but as as major tours go, Toronto & Montreal seem like the best.

I don't know much about the local scene, but if you compare Vancouver to Toronto or Montreal as far as big tours go, you'll notice the east coast gets way more.

Bands like to skip where I am...they don't seem to think that Ottawa matters at all...sure, don't come and play at the capital of our country or anything...you'll find that a lot of them will skip Montreal for some reason...

The calgary guy says that the east coast gets more tours while the ottawa guy says they dont, i'm confused now !

East coast excluding Ottawa. Still, Toronto is without a doubt #1.

Well, ottawas population is less than hundred thousand.
on top of that, you can walk from one end to the other in less than an hour. it is a fairly tiny place.

where as toronto, and GTA has about 6 million people
while montreal has over 1.5 million people...

so going to ottawa, no offence, is kinda like going to a village of less than 20 people when you have visted the major cities of US where the population is well in the 10s.

Um...what? The population of Ottawa is 1.2 million dude...you've obviously never been to Ottawa...NO OFFENSE lol...its a major city...and I don't really understand your English in that last bit...we do get a lot of bands but the big tour legs do tend to miss Ottawa...

and i have visited ottawa few times. i still say its fairly tiny comparing to toronto. definitely smaller comparing to some of the suburbs surrounding toronto as well.

Ottawa for sure is tiny compared to Toronto...its still a big enough city...there isn't all that much to do in Ottawa in comparison to Toronto...and as far as suburbs go, I find Toronto's suburbs to be completely fucking ridiculous...like, what the fuck is up with Vaughan? That place is just house after house after house after house after house after house of the same building...Vaughan is a goddamn eyesore...and then there's Oshawa...no offense to anyone who lives there but Oshawa is is a goddamn rundown place full of rundown people...and then Scarbaria is really full of crime and just a nasty place to live in...Hamilton smells like shit...I have nothing bad to say about Etobicoke or Mississauga...if you were gonna live in the suburbs of Toronto, it would have to be either Etobicoke or Missisauga...North York is completely old and run down...

But there are only a few venues in Ottawa that support the metal scene...there used to be more but they that heavy metal wasn't worth it and switched over to more popular music type atmospheres...

Im in the Mississauga area...I like it. Its becoming crowded but not so bad. Never really visited Vaughan much...but Ive heard the same thing. Its just full of the same looking houses. I used to live in Scarborough...it used to be nice but now its like you said....just full of crime and one nasty place to be. Don't think Ive ever been to Oshawa. North York is a pretty bland and boring place as well. Most of Hamilton is a shit hole but I cant say Ive been there enough.

Brampton is a place I don't like. Thats where I went to school and still go there for one class and I have 2 good friends who live there. Its like Mississauga but not as good.

-_- I live right next to Ottawa (Gatineau in QC) and frankly I must admit ... the metal scene sux, I mean they're 4 times larger than Gatineau and we got more Metal heads than Ottawa LOL... but Montreal's the place to be if you want awesome metal shows.

Indeed, and we might aswell give the npd their chance see what they can do. We've already seen what Liberals and conservative can do, and it sucks
