That's just an old wives tale. I had a bird crap on me when I was 9 years old, and it never brought me any good luck. Then it happens again on Friday, and on Saturday I accidentally hurt my cat, and then break my glasses... so no, definitely not good luck. lol

ha, yeah i know

i only just got up, but the low point of my day so far is waking up super early to the cat vomiting next to my head. Vomited on my pillow and sheets, then when i'm cleaning it up and chucking the pillow case in the wash she runs in to the kitchen and stands there waiting to be rewarded with some food....don't think so puss!

Sorry to hear about that.... I actually had something pretty similar happen to me a little over a year ago, the university rejection part anyways. Very demoralizing, it can be. Best of luck for the future.

I know nothing about your relationship or what exactly happened, but hey, there is a good point - at least you know that now.

High: Signed all the necessary papers and booked my flight. I really am a crazy person. XD Other than that, I had an amazing previous week with lots of parties with friends that I hadn't seen for quite some time. Also it's hockey/beer garden season so obviously everyone's in a great mood and even the bad weather doesn't change our evening plans.
Low: It has been raining for days... but finally everything's green and blooming outside. ^^ Oops, I just turned this into a 'high' point.

I remember getting rejected from universities twice. It actually was enough to make me give up at the time for a few years, but i ended up getting into a different one as a mature age student anyway (ages ago now).

It's always hard when your partner doesn't listen to your hardships, i came out of a long term relationship (7 years) last year, and it was mainly because of what you said. I just felt like she didn't give a damn about my feelings at all in the end. I let that drag on for 2 years or so before we called it off (there were other reasons too, but neglect was the main one).

As for my High and Low points:

High: Didn't get called in to school today (i do casual teaching). Which gives me some time to get my Europe trip sorted (i fly out on Saturday!)

Low: I was thinking before about how i'm almost 30 which is depressing and what i'm going to do with myself after my trip.

Get boring - have kids, settle down, all that jazz.

Tis what I did though it was completely unplanned. I miss my freedom sometimes.

Have fun in Europe. Which places are you visiting?

Easier said than done... i need a partner first, and i find it hard to relate to people these days. I'll get there one day lol.

I went 8 years ago, so i'm trying to avoid the major touristy things this time and get out and about more. Flying into Zurich. Doing a lot of Central / Eastern Europe, Hellfest in France, Driving around Norway for 2 weeks, tour of UK and some other stuff in Central Europe before we fly out of Zurich.

My brother is in the same boat - he was 30 in February and he's finding it hard to relate to people so he's single. And he used to be such a chick magnet - I expected him to get married far sooner than me even though he's younger!

Well i met me ex on here back in 2006 shortly after my last European trip. So we had that initial common interest. It's hard if you can't find that early common ground. Most people after 25 have developed their life and you both need to adapt to each others lifestyles. It's a lot harder meeting people older than when your young and free willed.

But yes, Europe will be awesome to take my mind of that stuff!

You have to be careful - my brother pulled some moves on girls in Croatia and they failed miserably. These moves generally worked on Aussie girls.

In fact they were quite shocked by his behaviour. Europeans or at least Croatians are significantly more conservative than Aussies/Kiwis.

ohh, eruo porn made them look easy

I think kiwis guys are a lot more conservative than aussies because they don't have as much choice

high - i can walk around without a moon boot now! it's sore, but fuck walking is an amazing thing we all take for granted

low - i'm not sure if i'm depressed or if it's just being stuck at home for so long, surely i wouldn't be more happy at work i mean i'm getting paid to watch tv and listen to music all day.

I am sure that staying at home for a long time makes people depressed. I, for one, can not imagine stating at home without going out in one day.

Yeah being desolated sucks but I personally am more afraid of not being able to go out and walk. Walking and seeing the sunlight are major sources of relaxation. I really get depressed when due to the rain, the sun is absent for a few days. Really don't know how people of norther Europe live with the seemingly a few hours of sunlight per day.

Low point: had an exam today which I was damn ready for it but somehow I managed not to see the final question. Really stupid mistake.

I remember a similar situation where I had this big test and half of my coursemates did not turn around the page to see that there were twice as many questions on the other side of it.

Written by mz on 15.05.2014 at 00:18
Really don't know how people of norther Europe live with the seemingly a few hours of sunlight per day.

We call it the 'winter depression'. Personally, I feel sad only when there is no snow. But those are just a few months a year when we get so little sunlight and we're used to it. Also it kinda makes you value your time more because you know that there are only few hours of sunlight and especially when it is incredibly sunny, you just have to go outside and enjoy the winter with your friends and/or family. In summers our days are longer than nights so we get to do more stuff.

High: No more rainy days! It's sunny again, and hot, and I hear we're gonna have +30*C next week. ^^ Just in time for a trip to the summer house for the weekend. Anyhow, today I was just glad I could go out with my rollerblades and show my skin to the sun. All in all, I probably did zero relevant things today but I am happy. XD
Low: I have so many errands to run and absolutely no willpower to do that. And I have to go shopping... which is annoying. And how will I pack all of that in my suitcase?!

So, do your people really get depressed because of lack of sunlight?
Also, they way you say it, sunny times should be equal to holidays for you?
It is not only that you have few hours of sun in the winter. I mean, in case of UK, the weather is apparently cloudy most of the time. That would be like a nightmare for me. Thanks God I have enough of sunlight here and in past the situation was even better.

iv been tapering off anti depressants so there's a bit of a story to it.

being at home is what fantasize about all day when i'm working, but when your stuck on the couch for over six weeks, watching another movie or listening to some more music has lost all it's impact. I mean you usually do these things to relax or amp you up or help you do house work or for some sort of reward after doing something..trust me, it's not all it's cracked out to be.

ha yeah that's my classic case

it's kind of weird how many people on this site have antisocial/social anxiety problems. I know you could say "well look at the music we listen to" but the punks and stuff i know who are suppose to be the most antisocial of them all are actually very social compared......sometimes seems it's just like an antisocial attitude/act for the excuse to be a bum or fit into the category of a punk

You now need to get a smoking hot chick to suck it better.

Actually, it was my big toe, and I can reach that one with my own mouth (don't ask how I know that).....

It's totally better today, I never understood that. If I smack a different body part with the same amount of force, I will have a bruise for a while, but for some reason if my toe smashes into something with apocalyptic force, other than hurting for a couple minutes there is no aftermath.

Well, no. Sure, lack of vitamin D is a contributing factor, but only if you are already feeling bad about something. And if it's not snowing for a long time, I start to feel rather bad about winter. XD In winters (January, February) it normally goes like this: if it's not sunny, it is most likely snowing, but when it's not snowing, it's sunny and we are enjoying the snow! ^^ I love winter because I see more sunshine than in autumn. Not this winter though. :/ Anyhow, weather conditions in Latvia are not like in the UK where apparently it rains most of the time all year round, but when it is not raining, it's either cloudy or foggy, or there's a storm. It really does sound like a horrible place to live.

I just meant that it is good to know the truth sooner than later. Even if it hurts. Hopefully, now you can try to focus on other things because, as they say, there's a lot of other fish in the sea! (: (Not only talking about the relationship, but generally about your other options and aspirations.)
