Yep, my first purchase was Iron Maiden, Somewhere in Time Back in 1986, it just took off from there.

Yes, that is what I like these days, I listened to a lot of DM in the late 80's early 90's just lost interest.

Hi guys and gals, I'm a 25 year old metalhead, decided to join MetalStorm 'cause the site is great and the forum actually looks active!!(unlike other forums I tried..). I love bands in every subgenre of metal, as well as other music..some of the bands I like, for example: Circus Maximus, Katatonia(DODS era), Dying Fetus, Rhapsody (of Fire, phaha!), Orange Goblin, All Shall Perish(PoE era), My Sleeping Karma, Cynic..Well I won't name them all eh? I think my current fave 2012 release is "A Perfect Absolution" by Gorod.

Well, just wanted to say hi, maybe it will make me less of a stranger and such! I look forward to finding new music and sharing recommendations with you guys! Cya around

Hello,names Rob,have been listening to metal for 32 years. Old schooler here. First metal album purchashed was Priests "Point of Entry" album on vinyl. Some of my favorite bands include: Priest,Maiden,Sabbath,Slayer,Testament,Overkill,Accept,Helloween,etc. Love pretty much all metals sub genres. Still go to roughly 8-12 shows a year. Look forward to learning about new bands from the community here.

I enjoy different types of metal, but I tend to enjoy complex, instrumentally-technical stuff more. I listen to mostly progressive metal, but also other subgenres such as death, power, trash, symphonic, extreme, avante-garde and others. I also enjoy other non-metal technical genres such as jazz, classical music, and some latin music. A small list of some of the bands I listen to:
Dream theater, Symphony X, animals as leaders, meshuggah, periphery, tesseract, opeth, cynic, epica, blotted science, unexpect, tool, king crimson, porcupine tree, riverside, and more

I play the drums, but I'm still quite a beginner, but I'm working hard to improve.

I joined these forums to hang out and discuss some metal-related things.

I was with two small metal bands as a singer and had some bad experience with the last one, so metal saddens me a bit. HOWEVER i love metal and need to research the different genres for my job.
Im still very much involved with music but in other aspects, and play the keys. tried the guitar but i dont have the style.
Im south european but living in the UK. I like the scorpions, deep purple, helloween, slayer, rata blanca, im a bit old fashioned but can appreciate the good music old or new.

Hello my name is Nikola and im 16....listening to metal for 4/5 years....and my first fav band was CoB but their later albums made me change my opinion....i like folk metal a lot but i prefer it with clean voices and more acoustic...like agalloch, empyrium, alcest....so any suggestions??? I like also melodic death (at the gates, amon amarth, be'lakor)

i like all genre's (except for slop metal and christian)




my favorite bands,well look at my page,too many to type.
my first bands were: alice cooper and rammstein, the first death metal album i listened to was a little album called "Death is just the beginning" that my father had back in the day.after that {4 years later} i took off the training wheels (both physically and mentally) and ventured out on my own and discovered black,death and all the other basic genres. then many years later more advanced genres such as drone,art,factory,grind,etc
and now here i am years later one of the many experts on the subject here to contribute and share what i learned along the way.
because the world needs metal and metal needs us.

and im currently living in the US
and im -classfied- years old

Hrm, just saw this thread. I was actually a member years ago with this exact username, but I believe it got deleted because of inactivity. Anyway, I've had a resurgence of metal love and want to pay attention to the scene again. What bands rule, where is this genre headed, will a good metal show ever come close enough to New Hampshire, et cetera.

WHats happening everyone? GOt brought in by a buddy of mine. Used to post in an old forum years ago, and I want to to get back into it. I dabble in most every genre/subgenre or whatever the hell you want to call it. I listen to various styles of metal. Ive come to learn about more. TO listen more, importantly. My faves are in the Bio.....
