Hey all, im Mark 25 from the UK,
i have always been into the alternative side of music mainly staying around punk and nu-metal, recently i have been craving the heavier side of metal and am drawn towards the metal music scene because of the whole package bands seem to use. With this i mean, utilising musicianship with storytelling and then incorporating awesome artwork and stage prescence

Hello peeps, just thought I would spare a few minutes to say hello and tell you something about myself. First of all, I only found this site by accident a few days ago after messing around on the Net when I was bored. I have been browsing through it and found some real good stuff, so thanks for that. Is there such a thing as a returning metalhead? If so, that's me! Always been a fan of the likes of Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Zeppelin that sort of stuff, and I was around in the very early days of NWOBHM to watch the likes of Maiden etc come into existence. Then I discovered da herb and drifted off into the hazy psychedlic world of Hawkwind, Floyd, Gong and the krautrock bands and kind of, well, got stuck there - for about, oh, maybe 30 years or so. Time moved on and I ended up moving to Ireland (from Scotland) and discovered once I was here that there was an incredibly lively metal scene, and sort of kinda, well got sucked back into it. So here I am at the time of life when I should by all rights be chilling out with the slippers and pipe, hair all grown back in, and filling the diary and CD rack with nothing but metal, metal and more metal, and loving every minute of it. Still listening to my old faves after all this time, but adding to them daily with some of the incredible bands I have missed out on, and trying to keep up to date with any new interesting ones that pop up. Current faves for this week would be Altar Of Plagues, Zatokrev, Winterfylleth, Adrift For Days, Neurosis, oh the list goes on and on. I have loads of bands that I have noticed on these pages to look into yet, but if anyone can suggest anything based on what I have listed, please feel free to throw your recommendations my way, and in turn, well I will be more than happy to kick back with some of the Irish bands that may have escaped your attention. Let me kick off with a band that I seen a few weeks ago opening for Mael Mordha, ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Scylla:

my first english teacher was irish .even today i have a bit irish accent.Also its sometimes difficult for me to speak english properlly expecially when reading stuff on other languages in same time (or vice versa).

my 1th teacher were fdrom states who did not talk in my native tong at all ... so in 3 years time I lost a lot in grammer, I get all grammer in german, but in english I lost a lot because of her and it was hard to get back ...
I was listening BBC radio scotland and ulster ... if its not sland I can understand accent, if its glasgewish slang non can get it only glasgow lads

good for you, and i can speak poorly, because i have no practice at all (except my trips to Europa). it's more important to be able to speak, than to know grammar perfectly.
