Simple, what is the scariest thing you have ever read, played or seen? Personally, I find that not much really scares me in movies or books now days. However, Silent hill 2 or 3 have to go down for the scariest games i have ever played.

Aw shit! No no no, I meant that he just generally writes "eerie" books. Like his short story, Children Of The Corn. If you haven't, read it, it's awesome!

Damn you! When I was reading Christine the first time, I remember reading the ending where they go destroy the car and my heart was pumping so fast. I couldn't stop reading either so I read until like 5 in the morning!

The scariest movie of all times for me is It! OMFG, Pennywise is like the scariest, creepiest, most horryfing creature ever! I have clowns, I've always hated it, they sicken me. I'm also terrified of dolls, mannequins and ventriloqusit dolls and of course, mimes. So Dead Silence gave me the shivers too.

Scariest game I dunno, for now I guess F.E.A.R 2 and I got recommended to play Dead Space, so we'll see about that....

Scariest book.... I don't read much gotta say, I love Clive Barker though (Hellbound Heart & Books Of Blood among my faves), but even though he writes horror novels, I couldn't exactly say I'm scared out of my pants reading it. I just enjoy it.

Scariest movie, for me, would be Event Horizon, whenever the nuance of Hell is introduced in some crazy violent way, it gets me frightened.

As for game... Recently, I haven't played very many scary games, but I remember when I was younger that Resident Evil (Biohazard) 1 and 2 frightened me to no end. Which is probably why I love Left 4 Dead now, since I can take revenge on those zombies with friends. x\ But! Doom 3, I think, was very well done for the scare factor involved.

And then... Scariest book? Not sure, I haven't read anything frightening in years, but when I was younger I read through Relic, by Douglas Preston, and I remember being terrified, haha.

Should we consider spelling it "Noise a few to sigh?"

Playing Silent Hill 3 alone in a dark room (switching on the lights doesn't help... actually not even the presence of other people in the room will help) for the first time can be traumatising. I remember I couldn't play more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time... The eerie factor got progressively worse as the game's story unfolded...

Yeah...
That's how it probably sounds to the Brits and the yanks... I wonder if we could start using this "phonetic" spelling in the Ozzy thread... It wouldn't exactly qualify as using a foreign language, I reckon...

Anyhow... Resident Evil is also rather unsettling. I have to admit I've only played the first game and I didn't complete it but I somehow have the feeling that Silent Hill is scarier. The graphics contribute a lot to the eerie atmosphere. You never know what's lurking there behind the corner if you know what I mean.

I also hate it when I get a bad case of the clowns, they are the worst!

I remember I got really scared when I was playing Duke Nukem 3, my screen was very dark and whenever one of those brain-monsters appeared I used to just spam whatever weapon I had selected.
