@Icarus: I'm not sure man, I may go to Bogotá... I depend on how busy Alouqua is qith her university asignments. If I can't go I guess I'll eb here in Medellín. Or maybe dad thinks of something. Wahoo! Die RAul Reyes, Die!!!! I almost danced when I saw the news. War! Hell yeah! Let's kill guerrilla men! Fortunately for me I don't apply for army. Now seriously. the way I see it, there are two options for FARC: They can take revebge with little towns, or tehy can search for a ppoliutic solution. I mean there ahve been soem serious hit on their big men... Raul Reyes, El Negro Acacio, The chief of two fronts somewhere in Putumayo... Tere have been some serious militar hits on them... As for Chávez, haha, he's nothing but a big mouthed asshole. If he declares war against us... Who do you think Uribe will ask for help? Of course our dad, the USA! Whoo! And there's nothing he can do against teh most powerful army in teh world. no matter if he has those Sukhoi planes.

Just watching the news... Pretty amazing, the USA is actually supporting us. And after all that they found in Reyes' (woohoo he's dead!) laptop, whoo... Uranium, money, guns, relations with venezuela.... Damn... this is gonna turn into a diplomatic hell. But of course, knowing how our president is, he will not respodn to Chavez's insults. Even people from teh venezuelan army say that he's insane. And Ecuador, well IMO they're just a puppet of Chavez. And the OEA is sending soem people to certify the things they found on the laptop, so pretty much everyone is on our side.

It is funny. I'd love to see how teh USA sends troops to defend us. Imagine a Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor flying over onw of our cities.... But I agree with The Alchemist. This will be a cold war, a diplomatic war. Chávez wants war, but our president is clever enough to not reply to Chávez insults provoke him. Just look, Uribe has not replied to what Chavez said. he made some pronouncements about the operative, teh death of "Reyes", but that's all. Besides everyone supports us, even Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. This is notthin but a political strategy from Chávez to make propaganda aout his "Bolivarian Revolution". PS: I loved the Minister Santos' and teh Generals' faces in the press conference... They looked so happy with this guy's death... And I frankly couldn't agree more.

yep, i also think it's gonna be a 'diplomatic war' rather than a type of war, hehe. but like jonas said, it'd be so cool seeing war planes and stuff flying over our heads! but anyway, it'll be interesting to what happens, and since both obama and hillary are supportive, we'd still have usa's support regardless of who wins

Just looking teh newspaper... I realise how screwed we are in mmilitary tech. Venezuela has the russian Sukhoi-30 warplanes. Ecuador has french Mirages... we have some old stuff, teh Kafirs.... Thank god teh USA has the F-22s. Sii is anyone goint to teh new march tomorrow? You think it'll move as much people as the past one? I'm not going, of course.

well you might have some truth there but we also have mirages in fact ive seen em fly near la dorada several times, theyre not that great though what we do have is great night time planes (which name i never bring myself to remeber). but what we DO have is a trained and organized army with tons of experience in the battle field (something neither Ecuador and Venezuela have), to this we could add the support of a super power being that USA... which could decisevely win the war in the air and water fronts where is wher we need more aid... .as for the land Tanks are no use heres in our lands except perhaps in the LLanos or la costa but thats about it you wont see them going up hill the cordilleras THATS A NO NO! besides i see a fair way out from our troubles with ecuador i just wouldnt know bout venezuela lets hope they overthrow chavez first

well, it's true that venezuela can literally kick our arses in military terms, but still it's not a good option for them, and neither for ecuador to shut relations with us, specially now that we are importing a lot of agricultural good to venezuela, and pratically are in charge of ecuadors electricity, so... not a good option for them to close realtons with us, or worse, to declare war or whatever. also considering that usa backs us, haha

@Icarus: Mirages, yeah, like 3. The night planes are called "Stealth" (Fantasmas). And yes we have one amazing army. Yeah the US would be very helpful in coast and llanos, but no one in the world, except for maybe Congo and Viet-nam, can fight in the jungle like our army does! Hail the army!!!!!! @tulkas: No they can't. Bring them to the jungle (3/4 of our country I must say) and we'll see! besides, their army is not fully armed... Not all the venezuelan army has weapons. Chávez don't give them weapons because he fears a "coup d'état".

yeah tulkas i think youre a bit disinformed it seems even with the sukhoi planes they didnt get the ammo and weaponry so they are almost useless... my dad recently told me we have a huge anti-tank system set all over the country which could make those tanks rust in a few minutes hehehe soo it all ends up in the hands of infantry which ours is FARRRRR superior 40 years of experience dont come in vain ... all chavez has fought was a easy coup d'etat and some minor riots from the oposition....

Have the newspaper in my hand. The OEa actually did not put a sanction or a punishemt to us. They only said it was violation of Ecuador's soberany (?) and president' Uribe had already apologized for that. Also teh minister Santos said that's we are not sending one single soldier to the frontier. Obviously our government is not going to respodn to Chávez's provocations.

"Guerra de corbatas." A war that's fought in diplomatic stances, such as the Rio meeting tehy are right now. A war made withowrds and speeches. Not with weapons. So you probably you won't be send to war, you can relax.
