Anyone from Sheffield that happens to read this, I will be over there in the Corporation tonight..
Never been before, we'll see what it is like!

Wow, well.. that was so so good there!! I recommend the place to all of you that haven't been yet.
There is three rooms; the main one that does sort of gothy industrial stuff, one that does more modern and extreme metal, and the other that does more classic rock and metal. I spent most of my time in the last two!!

Compared to what I am used to here, hearing 1349 and At The Gates and the likes in a place like that was so so cool..
I want to go again!!

@Baz Anderson: is it a club then? man i wish there was one that played extreme metal closer to where i live, we have one bar but all the emos go there to get pissed...

On the subject of clubs, everyone seems so incredibly hopeful about a club starting in our town called "The Ruin" which seems very secretive at the moment, the sign looks all gothic and I hear some people going on about it perhaps being more rock and metal, no giveaways yet, well actually, I went onto the website recently, and what do I hear in the background RnB?! Oh dear...
But then I somehow knew that a new Annihilation night wouldn't be coming back because people can never be arsed with promotion properly and generally turning up just to support it.
All I hear we've got going is some new promoter putting on sceamo/hardcore bands. Not good enough :/

Provided you get enough friends along (and get them to spread the word) you could always hire a place and make your money back on entrance fee. Had a mate down here a few years back who started arranging his own club nights in bars as nowhere did anything half decent.

That's an idea actually. Still, there probably wouldn't be enough willing people here..

Yes - the Corporation is a club, it must be one of the biggest metal clubs in the country.. I talked to a few people there and quite a few weren't even from Sheffield like me, but had gone there just for that night out with good music!! Hahaha..

Yeah I tried hiring venues on several occasions to get gigs going, I was all prepared with the promotion side of things, but it never went ahead because of managers not being organised basically, but oh well.

man im not looking forward to moving to yeovil...i just know its gonna be shit...

and lonely! ive tried looking for people registered on here who live nearby and there is not one person who lives near and has actually been on in the past 100 days.

Anyone in the Bristol/Birmingham kind of area down there - I am interested in going to the Black Swan Festival in Bath.. if anyone around there loves Mayhem or Lordi, maybe it is worth looking at too.

i have been doing nothing really! research for my dissertation, a disasterous trip to germany and drinking my own weight in rum in my favourite pub
didn't make it to any festivals this summer so next year i'm going to get myself a credit card and max it out on tickets and flights. hah.
i've also been collecting bruises from rollerderby best all-girls sport in history!
plus i'm 21 in a couple of weeks... bring on the carnage!

rollerderby is basically 10 girls on rollerskates beating each other up. you have 2 teams of 5 girls, 1 pivot, 1 jammer and 3 blockers. pivots and blockers form the pack which the jammers have to pass through to score points, most points after 2 minutes wins that jam and there's as many jams as you can fit into a 20 or 30 minute period, depending on whether you have 2 or 3 periods in a bout.

oh god. germany.
basically, i went to magic circle with my ex [bad idea to start with] and we got to dortmund, it PISSED with rain. it wasn't even in the same league as scottish rain, this was biblical, epic rain... so after 2 nights in a hotel and getting soaked to the bone in lidl's carpark i called it a day and came home. no WAY was i camping in that. our tent was shady at best so i didn't fancy a week in it. and now we're not talking, which is good

however, my summer was greatly improved at the alestorm gig last week when me &gavin decided to turn dani's bass into a utility belt and attatched a comb and bag of mccoy's to it. he wasn't happy but it made us laugh

Yeh, it always seems to rain just when you don't want it to. And harder than it usually seems to to. That is a shame though that you missed the festival. I guess you dragged your ex back then, and that's why he is annoyed with you. Hahaha..

I'm not the biggest fan of Alestorm, but they do seem like friendly people, they always seem to come out and meet people.

yeah he came back to scotland but thats as far as he got, we argued all the way back and we've not really spoken since then :S
