01.04.2010 - 01:38 Written by Doc G. on 01.04.2010 at 01:26 Evoke seems like a fantastic ability in conjunction with that (how bout Shriekmaw? Two mana, destroy target creature, get a 3/1 haste). Personally I'd also play it with cheap stuff with a good triggered ability either when they come into play (Ravenous Rats) or die (Festering Goblin). Hellspark Elemental seems nice too, you get a 3/1 haste for 2, it dies and you get a permanent one, and can still unearth for another 3 damage. If you take the route of cheap creatures with good effects when they either come into play or die, a way to sacrifice them for something good seems nice too (Carrion Feeder perhaps?). Just a few suggestions off the top of my head.

01.04.2010 - 01:46 Written by Bas on 01.04.2010 at 01:38 Yeah, Festering Goblin and Ravenous Rats work well. I was thinking of adding a bunch of stuff with Persist in as well, like Murderous Redcap. Hornet Harasser would work the same way Festering Goblin does...

Well it costs 4 times as much but yeah, it'd get the job done too; provided you have some sacrificial outlet. Same for Murderous Redcap, could be pretty nice provided you have a way to sacrifice it (twice in a row) for a nice effect. Personally I'd still use Carrion Feeder for it, but if you prefer something like Vampire Aristocrat, it'd work just as well. Some sacrificial outlet that lets you deal damage to a creature or player directly and can be used multiple times a turn would be even better, but I can't think of anything right now. If you can get your hands on some Ichorids they'd be totally awesome in such a deck, but of course also a bit more expensive than the other possibilities.

Something else I just thought of. The card you probably want most in your deck apart from Sek'Kuar himself is probably Fecundity. Seems like an awesome fit in a deck filled with creatures that want to die and some ways of sacrificing them. Works awesomely with stuff like Shriekmaw and Hellspark Elemental too

01.04.2010 - 13:15 Written by I_Die_Often on 01.04.2010 at 03:47 Slivers is the MTG way of saying "I have no testicles, nor the brains to build a well thought-out deck". In multiplayer games I always target Slivers first, regardless of what other decks are playing. Hate those fucking things. @Bas Yeah, card draw is somewhat pointless in this deck, it might work but I've got too many non-creature spells as it is, and I'd prefer to keep it at the maximum amount of creatures possible. Vicious Shadows is definitely going to be a big part of this deck. Keldon Marauders also play a nice part.

01.04.2010 - 19:47 Written by Bas on 01.04.2010 at 19:31 I have a couple of OK decks, the slivers were in retirement for quite some time, but resurfaced when I finally got a real good deck, just to keep me in line! I don't know enough about cards I have on hand to tell about them, but I do know I would like to get the Pacifism with Akroma tattooed on me sometime...

01.04.2010 - 23:44 Written by Introspekrieg on 01.04.2010 at 23:30 I agree with Land Destruction, really annoying to play against and no fun to play with either. But fast creature decks are something you just have to get used to when your playgroup gets a little better. Personally I have a zombie deck that can win on turn 3. That's right, turn 3, no matter if I play or draw first and without a combo and yeah, I'm pretty proud of it Although I'll admit that it only happens really rarely and needs a near-perfect starting hand, but I've pulled it off a few times already. I also have a combo deck that can deal infinite damage by turn three (although again I'll admit the turn 3 win is rare, but it reliably wins by turn 4, 5 or 6).

04.04.2010 - 14:08 Written by [user id=2084] on 04.04.2010 at 05:22 It typically wins with Disciple Of The Vault OR Genesis Chamber, Ashnod's Altar OR Krark-Clan Ironworks and double Myr Retriever. I'm also running four copies of Vedalken Engineer to smooth things out and 4 copies of the sickest, most broken equipment ever, Skullclamp. The rest of deck is filled out with card drawing and some small artifact dudes that like to be eaten by Skullclamp (for example Myr Moonvessel gives me the mana back and Myr Servitor just comes back next turn.) all those critters combined with Genesis Chamber and either an Altar or an Ironworks also give me a pretty good mana engine which just let's me use Skullclamp untill the opponents dead (Disciple) or untill I draw into the missing combo piece (usually the second Myr Retriever).

Yes, I'm well aware, but as I play casual and limited it really doesn't matter However I almost never play the deck anyway as it isn't very fun to play with or against.

This weekend, there's a Steam promo, you can have the base Planeswalker game for less than ?5, and each of the two extensions for ?2 (you can also buy all the unlocked decks, but why buy them when you can unlock them with the base game?) May this mark my return to MTG

It doesn't matter if skullclamp is a banned card...I play it a lot in casual too...it is a powerful card now because of the Eldrazi...use Skullclamp with Mana Echos, Panoptic Mirror and Skittering Invasion...Scars Of Mirrodin turned out to be a pretty wicked broken expansion...I have a pretty sweet Myr deck as well as having a pretty sweet Replica deck with cards like Esperzoa, Bring Of The White Dawn and Platinum Golem...

Scars Of Mirrodin is such a stupid set. It has a few good cards, but basing an entire set around artifacts is just...Well, completely fucking boring. I was so pissed off when I heard about this set, I ended up buying a couple packs, and the only card that didn't make me want to rip my own eyeballs out was Geth, Lord Of The Vault.

23.11.2010 - 19:44 Written by Doc G. on 23.11.2010 at 08:36 Yeah I think it's pretty lame too, most of the cards are poop, the only ones I'd like to have are Mox Opal, Wurmcoil Engine and the rare dual lands which are nice. I already got myself 2 Skinrenders (definitely the best non-rare card in the set) and 4 Memnites at uncommon and I'm not planning to buy anything else out of the set. Also selling my Koth that I got at the prerelease. At first I thought he'd be the best card in the set, but turns out that even he stinks pretty much. Rather get some value out of him^^ And Philipp you could at least have sent me a Force Of Will or something as a christmas present you bastard Money is nice though.

Why do you think Scars of Mirrodin is so stupid? Because its so broken or something? I really liked the whole Myr thing...I have a pretty sweet Myr deck...I liked the whole infinite combo with the Myr Galvaniver and two Palladium Myr...also, what was wrong with Infect? If you take Relic Putresence and put it on one of your opponents creatures and also put a Freed From The Reel on your opponents creature too...and constantly untap and tap it and have a Myrosynth Lattice out to make sure that all your mana produce blue and then you give him/her a shitload of poison counters and then they loose the game...I made that deck idea happen...

26.11.2010 - 20:19 Written by [user id=2084] on 26.11.2010 at 19:52 Broken? Not at all. Most of it isn't very good at all and most of it doesn't look too fun to play with either. That combo of yours doesn't really seem reliable either, they're all cards that don't do anything at all on their own and two of them are auras that you enchant one of the opponents creatures with, so the opponent will often have ways to just get rid of them. I don't know what the level of the people you play with is, so it might be good in your metagame, but I have 13 decks and I'm pretty sure none of them would lose against that combo, they're all either too fast, have ways to get rid of the auras or the lattice, or have a way to just get rid of the enchanted creature. However there's something much cooler you can do with the lattice, take that and 4 liquimetal coating and perhaps some memnarchs if you can get them and then add creatures that blow up artifacts when they come into play like the oxida scrapmelter, manic vandal from m11 or something like hoard-smelter dragon, etc. Just turn everything your opponent has into artifacts and then blow it up!^^ Myrs are quite cool, I like them too, but only visually and conceptwise, they aren't particularly good.

@Bas: I do agree with a lot of your points though...and I already had that infinite combo with along with a Myr Matrix...beleive me man, I've been playing MTG ever since it began and know what I'm talking about...I took the Lattice out of a deck where I make everyone's permenants artifacts and destroy them all...

Scars' sucked because building an entire set around artifacts is shit ass boring as fuck. Putting in a shit ton of artifacts is one thing, but having pretty much all the non-artifact cards abilities revolve around artifacts is just taking it too far. Maybe if this set was only 2 blocks I'd be able to not go fucking nerd-rage over it's conception.
