I want to go to Colombia... a few years ago I planned a great earth trip to Bogota with a friend, but we only reached Lima... blame the Peruvian drug dealers, as we ran out of money much earlier than expected

if you get the opportunity again you should make all the way here. there's a lot of cool places to visit, that i'd also like to visit. the only real problems of travelling within colombia is the guerrillas and that stuff, insecurity in general. but still there's a lot of amazing landscapes that are so worth seeing!

We're not planning to go deep into the jungle though, just to the big cities... on the other hand, I don't think I would be a good target for the guerrilla, no one would feel like paying a buck for rescuing my ass.

well as for the guerrillas i can safely say ifyou arent planing on visiting any weird place and stick to the big cities u will be fine traveling by land, IMO u should visit bogota, medellin and cartagena that should cover the basics everything else adds up but are below those 3. Btw just got home from medellin couple of mins ago and as a good rolo i have to say MAN IS BOGOTA THE BEST EVER!!! hehehe love my city heheheheh but it was pretty nice hated the whole "hey i live a couple of mountains away" hahahaha but pretty nice parks and stuff ooo btw no cool bars and parque lleras wasnt half la 93 or the T but it was a fun trip people were really kind which surprised me i thought they were mean to us bogotanos but they werent actually. also nice frijoles man!!! and all around fun

Well if I go Bogota would be my city, because all the Colombians I had met in my life (that are more than a few) are from that city, I even had a good friend back in the school years that is now back in Bogota and I know I would be well received by him... He gave me a Millonarios shirt years ago

i love bogotá too because there's a lot of different environments you can enjoy depending on what you like. i also like the weather, although it may get very cold sometimes, it's still great because it's not too hot, or too cold all the time, it's more avarage, and thats nice

That's another +1 for Bogota... I hate the tropical weather... well, I had never been in a tropical place but I KNOW I would hate it.

And well, I think Santiago is pretty cold for south-american standars so I won't have problems with that... we even had some snow last year

yeah, i don't think you'll have a problem putting up with the cold weather here, you being from chile, you'll probably end up liking it more than santiago's cold winter weather. does it get too cold in santiago during winter?

and another +1 for Bogotá is the drug prices, loads and loads for little money

mmm well i went to mm el parque lleras a night on thurday for a couple of drinks, went to santafe de antioquia, clothe buying, mmmm wut els wut else, city driving hahahaha , to clubes campestres and well to pueblito paisa and stuff, also went a lot to my aunts pool it was good

Parque Lleras, Club Campestre... Very "Play" lol.
Pueblito Paisa is kinda fun, it's a traditional place for tourism, and so is Santa Fe de Antioquia. you get to see a lot of hot girls there. Well, everywhere actually.
So no downtown, no walking on Carabobo, no Metro, Metrocable? You didn't come to Medellín then.
