01.01.2011 - 19:22 Written by Gurth Bennas on 01.01.2011 at 18:51 i dont think the Egyptian dialect is easy, infact it is rather complicted and different from any other arabic variation, but the reason it maybe be popular and understandable by many arabs is that Egypt 'was' once the most advanced arab country and one of the first arab countries to gain its independence from colonization, so egyptian media was always ahead and that helped spread the egyptian dialect, also alot of arab countries needed teachers to make cirriculums and to teach them about various sciences, and most of these teachers were egyptians, and that further helped speard the egyptian dialect... now, those were the good 'ol glory times lol, now all the successful TV shows, singers, and soap operas are lebanese or syrian, and recently the dubbed-turkish series are being voiced by syrians so this helped spread the syrian dialect even more ... and the gulf (qatar, emirates, and KSA) dialects are getting popular too due to their increased medis influence, and as most of the jobs in the middle east are located there so most of the arabs go work in the gulf for extended periods of time. i guess the only un-popular dialect of arabic is the 'western' one used in morocco and algeria and tunisia. i have an algerian friend and when she speaks in algerian arabic i seriously do not understand a SINGLE word (not exaggerating )

02.01.2011 - 17:24 Written by [user id=41780] on 02.01.2011 at 17:08 You need to know Arabic in order to enter university in Iran? What about when trying to get a job? The hell... even we don't require Russian at universities nor at work altho it's a lot more used here than Arabic in Iran... In fact it's sorta necessary to know Russian here... after all it's spoken by more than one third of the population and we don't have to be so "nationalistic" to say "I am a monolingual Estonian speaker! I will never study Russian. Only a bit English!"

03.01.2011 - 08:56 Written by Ernis on 02.01.2011 at 17:24 yeah, we should know arabic as well as an arabic person should know. but for working there's no usage for arabic. unless you want to work in a place which has connections with arabic countries. I really can't understand why we have to learn two languages? I think english sucks too!

Ok in a very simple meaning : eid el fetr ( or breaking the feast festival ) is a Muslim holiday for 3 days we celebrate it by the end of Ramadan month. as for festival, children wear new clothes and they get small amount of money as a gift from the family and the neighbors. and as a holiday, we get 3 days off from schools, collage and work as a conclusion, people get crazy in the streets, out of work, eating, greetings, gathering and give charities

21.10.2012 - 17:51 Written by Oaken on 16.05.2012 at 02:20 There's a big difference between Tunisian Arabic and Algerian Arabic. Sure, there's this sort of dialect continuum between the two but aside from that, nothing. Even the morphology, syntax and pronunciation differ. Tunisian Arabic sounds soft and pliable whereas Algerian Arabic and Moroccan Arabic sound ragged and at times harsh. On the other hand, you really need to be Tunisian to understand our dialect because it's quite different from Classical Arabic. That's probably why most Tunisians don't understand their neighbouring countries or even the ones in the middle-east.
