Well, first of all from what I took from K7s profile hes got a little misguided views on Canada. Yeah its cold as all hell here in winter. And really far north it pretty much is tundra. Killer whales? uhmm, well far west coast would be best, (like British Columbia), as far as time of year goes Im not sure. I live in the west (Alberta) and we have cool mountains n stuff, as far as wildlife goes its probably not as exciting as you may think, I see alot of deer and stuff anytime I leave the city, in the summer. As far as exciting cool stuff like bears and cougars and moose and stuff....well ive only seen a bear in the wild like once in my life, and I do alot of camping, same with cougars. Moose ive seen three or four times but its not very common.

Bears and Cougars are so rare. And as far as whale watching/kayaking/swimming type stuff goes I wouldnt know, I live mid-westernish area and havnt been to the west coast yet (Canada is to effing big). As far as camping and stuff goes, the mountains are always awesome, like the Kannanaskis is a pretty good area (a mountain range in alberta). Whatever you do, dont go to Manitoba or Saskatchewan, its possibly the most boring place on earth, I was unfortunate enough to drive through those 2 provinces one time and the 2 and half day drive was as interesting as watching paint dry.....flatland for miles upon painfully boring miles (no offense to any prairie dwelling canadians reading this)
And as far as snow, yes it does snow, different levels depending on where you go, here in alberta weather is very unpredictable, like last week I was walking around in a cut-off shirt and shorts, now im looking out my window and there a few centimeters of snow sitting on the ground.

It usually doesnt snow during the summer, but every few years theres sometimes a snowfall in the summer, but it melts in like a few hours of it hitting the ground, thats western canada, eastern canadian weather is a little more predictable. But typically it doesnt snow anywhere past April, winter just decided to hang around longer this year in my region. And snow doesnt usually hit until fall in most places here.
As far as websites go....

@Oracle: You'll want to put aside a good chunk of time if you REALLY want to experience all of Canada...there's way too much of it to see to just come for like...a week...to experience Canada if you're from Australia is to actually come up and live here for awhile if you're serious about it...K7...funny you were the first one to respond...curious to know if you've been to Canada...
I suggest somewhere in Canada with some true Canadian culture...the East Coast is a great Canadian destination to visit for a first time...far removed from the Center of the Country, the East Coast has some remote truly deep down Canadian culture, scenery, nature, events, cities, etc...to check out...the east coast is a blast to visit from March-June...Central Canada (Quebec and Ontario) is exceptional to check out throughout our summer from May-September and nowadays (thanks global warming!) right into December as it has warmed up considerably...Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City always have tons of stuff happening...Montreal is FUCKING AWESOME in the summer! it's very European, very open minded...people are so nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and easy going...BC, Alberta...great during the winter obviously...actually...it's so diverse that my first statement, coming and staying for a few years, is the only true way to experience Canada for sure...

Yeah true. Canada is such a big place and yeah i would need a who heap of time to experience Canada. i do want to see the Orcas there, i mean their in Australian waters but very rarely. where is the best place to see them? and whats the best time of year to see them?
i mean there is alot i would love to see in Canada. i read somewhere that you can go sea kayaking and stuff like that? where abouts in Canada can you do that?
Here I found a good site for you:
http://www.hellobc.com/en-CA/SightsActivitiesEvents/NaturalSightsPaev1=8rksWildlife/WhaleWatching/VancouverIsland.htm?S=N&L
Vancouver Island, which is the far west coast.

@Oracle: They probably have some good whale watching stuff set up off of the coast of the Bay of Fundy, off the coast in around central Nova Scotia and off the coast on the Gulf of St. Lawrence in New Brunswick...n April would be a good bet as to time...kayaking in North Eastern Ontario and white water rafting is something that people do a lot in around Ottawa...

Somewhat cold, mostly just because of pretty strong winds, but I was wearing a tshirt, it was a little chilly but still tolerable.
