My sis had this site on the screen...
And I checked it out for a couple of months but just to look for information. But then I started to read reviews and commets and it seemed like a nice forum.

So I thought "I can wrote what I think in english... so I'll give it a try"

And well.. the rest is history.

This guy showed it to me like....2 weeks ago, that's my history hahaha

I dont actually remember how i ended up here. originally i didnt bother looking at forums or anything, the first thing i enjoyed about this site was the rules of the various styles of metal. they had me in fucking stitches when i first read them. but ive come to love this site and the information on here is invaluable.

I think I was looking up Cradle of Filth on a search engine and stumbled across. Luckily I did, I found so many great bands, made me appreciate more metal than the actual shit I was listening to =)

Really wierd. I was looking for interviews of some band (most likely CoF, I think) and I saw a link to this place. The rest is hystory *bows*.

I was linked here by a friend of mine... living_dead_beat. He was like "yo dude come here this place is cool" and I'm like "ok".

Only the story is a little longer and less retarded-sounding than that.

A good friend of mine (BloodRedMoon) told me about this site and so I decided to join. I haven't been on here much, quite occupied with the new semester but I"m looking forward to getting to know some of you here.

I found that site from google-search as i was looking for something like that (news, many bands, reviews) to get me deeper into metal!! and i was very lucky because that was the first site which i decided to give a try...!!!

I don't fucking know. I think I found a link from some other site I regularily use. Probably it was off Metal Archives, but I'm not 100% sure.

Somehow I wound up here anyways. The internet tends to be like that. All those links you click on.......

When I'm not in the mood for a laugh at the expense of tactless dullards, I usually stay away from my computer. I'm just here looking around really, I can tell this place is doesn't cater to my particular taste in metal (I don't usually get on forums anyway) and it doesn't appear to be filled with members who have a similar taste in music.

The fact that I saw someone with a fairly high post count ask if Enslaved was "popular in Europe" said it all for me. I used to post quite frequently on a forum made by a fellow by the name of "Fetus Baker", but that site's been down for almost a year now.

1st of February must be a good date to answer this question - how the hell I found MS. So, it's nothing interesting - as I'm registered in one of the Latvian forums which in generally is about "dark culture", they had a link to MS on their front page.

I got an obnoxious pm from a staff member demanding the same question this thread imposes.
I calmly explained my views on metalstorm as a site and he banned me for looking down on faggotry.

Metalstorm most certainly IS a scene-site. If you look around at the posts made by even the "prominent" members, you'll see that its all either Q/A about mallfuck bands that (as I see it) 13-year-olds rely on to get them into metal in the first place (Opeth, Emperor, Machine Head, Cattle Decatitaion and the like), or vain arguments on none-metal topic's filled with condescending bullshit.

If you had actually read what I wrote, you would have seen how in my post I expressed minimal jubilation in regards to the release of Wintersun's new album. I said I would prefer a Wintersun/Athiest release rather than another pointless Maiden/Kreator stab.

I remember searching for some Death reviews, Scream Bloody Gore, if I remember correctly. Eventually, Metalstorm showed up. Yipiii

So glad I joined this site, made me discover so many great bands, and still does.

This guy was banned for a third time hahha (Woeridden).

and is there a side what is less 'poser-fag-ish' than Metalstorm? And I understand Opeth or Machine Head being seen as 'mallcore'......But Cattle Decapitation have the same popularity as when they started out and still play a form of Grindcore.

.........anyway for the sake of staying on topic.....it was back in like '03 or '04 I did a Google Image search and one of the pics came from here.

About a year ago I googled metal to see if metal as in steel or iron would come up before or after metal the music genre. Metalstorm ended up as the second result after wikipedia, and it looked like a cool site so I clicked on it and have been coming here ever since, though I never registered until recently.

This was a long time ago so I can barely remember it. I was looking for some details about a band and at that time I didn't know about Metal Archives. I turned up here and visited the site for about a year before finally deciding to create an account here.

I got lost on the internet and almost 5 years later still haven't found my way out.

found the site looking for online metal radio. i was (likely unknown to him) one of hte people fadekiller hated because whenever a prolonged bout of power metal came on, i'd go queue up three black metal songs just to cleanse my ears.

my first post was in a Meshuggah thread.

Marcel was still Ozman. Zombie had not yet earned his Medical Doctorate, and Prugor was still running around flaming people.

the site had that +1 system to "reward" good posts, but it was often horribly abused so that people would just +1 each other for shit like "Death Rocks, man! "... meanwhile i'd write something worthwhile and nothing.

i was stoked when i (finally) got my first +1 - from Jup, if i recall, who also gave me props for my user pic and original user name, Xynobis - both of which were Godflesh related.

5 years later i'm one of the inmates trying to help run the asylum.
