I call bullshit. They've only released one album in the last two years, and they toured that year (being '07). They'd really have no reason to come back without having any new material, and only being here last year. Would atleast have the money now to see them if they did, but I doubt very much they would.

Wasn't taking it seriously one bit. Why I doubt it very much. What would give you the idea they would? Keep in mind my previous points on why they wouldn't.

i understand completely why you think that
and i fully agree with you on the fact thats its pointless for them to tour again
...and well, i didnt disagree with you either
all i said, was that theyre contemplating a tour
whether or not thats true
i guess we will never know until they either announce a tour, or they dont

Can't be bothered, seen them already and I'm no longer really much of a fan. Though I'm slowly but steadily getting really excited about Judas Priest!

Doesn't matter how he does it, the very fact that he'll be singing is enough for me! I know they're old and washed up, but who cares, it's still JP after all. And besides, we're not all 40 year olds who have seen these bands multiple times when they were in their prime you know.

Er, I only saw Judas Priest ONCE, albeit on their Painkiller tour when they were supported by Annihilator and Pantera
But then again hanging out with after the concert for hours and seeing Rob hit on Phil Anslemo when Phil didn't even have a clue and everyone else was laughing their heads off made up for only seeing them then.

Enough with the bragging already, Marcel! We KNOW you've already seen and met every band that's worth seeing or meeting, let us at least sip the dregs in peace!

Virgin Black were really good when they opened for Arcturus last year. If it wasn't so expensive I might have even considered going just for them, but it's sold out already, so one less decision for me to make!

@Trollhorn: Yeah i guess, I do remember the tix for Iron Maiden concert were quite expensive i think they were like $100 or over and Both Matt and I went so it really adds up. but The Opeth ones were just $67 or something like that and i found them cheaper than the iron maiden ones. I wish all Tix were like $50 or something hehe, That would be great :

The Pig Destroyer gig is only about $35 from memory.

The number of tours in September is pretty insane though. In two-three weeks there's Down, Carcass, Meshuggah, Lord, Dragonforce, Pig Destroyer, Machine Head and Def Leppard. Incredible concentration of shows compared to how spaced out they usually are.

Thats pretty cheap for a gig. I wish the Opeth tickets were that price. I guess the price sort of depends on the venue but i dont know.

Im waiting for bands like Blind Guardian or Obituary to tour again but i guess that wont be for a while yet. I missed both of those gigs last year which was disappointing lol.
Some of the bands that are touring in September don't really interest me that much, only Opeth and thats it.

Ive heard rumors that Iced Earth were touring later this year but i dont think thats true thought but i wish it was though...

Seeing how outrageously expensive gigs in Australia are I think that also has to do with the fact of where the country is located and that it is bloody expensive for a band to get there.

@Marcel H.: Yes that could be another reason too.

They just seem expensive because Matt and I live 3 hours away from Sydney and we have to drive there and the fuel prices have gone up too so we cant afford the tickets, Accommodation or fuel.

Wow, three hours drive... that would get me outside of the Netherlands every which way I drive.

@Marcel H.: really? Netherlands much be pretty small if it takes 3 hours everyway you drive.
I just wish things werent that expensive though. becuase of this Matt and I cant afford to go to every good band that comes to Australia and Matt also does Uni which can be a pain in the ass as well coz sometimes gigs are on at the wrong time when Matt has to do tests or exams etc. If we lived in Sydney then things would be different but unfortunately its not so i guess we just have to be happy with how we are...

Ive heard rumors that Iced Earth were touring later this year but i dont think thats true thought but i wish it was though...

In a recent interview that Jon Schaffer did he said:

“We’ve done a lot more touring than people had expected already this summer. We’ve got several more shows planned this summer and a North-American tour coming up in September/October and then New-Zealand, Australia and Japan in November. We’ll be touring Europe probably in early 2009 as a headline tour.”

Nothing confirmed yet, but at least they're looking at coming down here very soon. It would be awesome if they did come down here in November though.

The day it snows in Brisbane will be the day the planet is well and truly fucked beyond repair. Although it has been damn cold here (by our temperate standards).

So whatever happened to global warming? It has snowed in Orange a fair bit and sometimes it snows at Glen Innes but i dont think its ever snowed at Port Macquaire but it has been reallly really cold here lately at night.
It would be really strange if it snowed in Brisbane lol.

Also if Iced Earth does tour here, Ill be the happiest girl alive and i hope they have a good support band too. They should get Blind Guardian has their support hehe.
