@Marcel you know dutch band Awakening who play death/doom metal thay had only 4 tapes, maybe you had something of them?

I only know their Morte Aeterna demo which I have on original tape, but that is pure death metal.
Vince Zwarts who played guitar on that one and was 14 or 15 at the time now plays in Toxocara

I jsut find them in MA and doom-metal.com seems good band
How many rear demo tapes you own and rear stuff from 80ties and 90ties?

IMO Urfaust is the best dutch bm band by far..
Countess is only good for one album Helig Vuur, Cirith Gorgor is enjoyable as is Liar of Golgotha, I do enjoy Deleterious though one can debate them being black or not, Zwartketterij is alight as well. But somehow I am not too familiar with the dutch bm scene.
But Dutch metal (so not only bm) in general is quite healthy and good, especially if you avoid the mainstreamish atmospheric/symphonic bands.

i don't like a lot of dutch/belgian bands either, only delain and ancient rites are pretty good

well most of our black metal scene are the standard generic bands we have all seen before, I also forget to tell Ordo Draconis is very good, great post-black metal. I agree we have overall a pretty good metal scene, especially our Death metal scene it is so much better then the boring USA death metal. I actually don't mind our Symphonic I only don't like the new Within Temptation and some After Forever albums. how ever it is shame that our scene get ruined by lame porg metal acts such as Ayreon. maybe you haven't noticed yet but there is also an overkill lately in our folk metal scene. Heidevolk is the most reknow one and the best and I am happy that they got a deal with Napalm Records. there are also other good one's such as Thronar, Elexorien and Conorach but the rest are mostly clones...

All the albums after Heilig Vuur are pretty good imo. Countess' quality is mostly in creating generic, catchy black metal. It is far from refreshing, but it is definitely enjoyable. Some of his older songs are quite good too. Cirith Gorgor and Liar of Golgotha are both mediocre. Uhm, I also really like Fluisterwoud and Onheil. Onheil has something similar going on as Countess. However, instead of focusing on paganism the band focus on misanthropy. Walpurgisnacht is also quite enjoyable. The music itself is mediocre, but the lyrics are excellent. They also have something that is quite rare in black metal, they have decent lyrics. Also, the fact that they wrote some lyrics in old Dutch makes them even more interesting. So yeah, overall the dutch black metal scene isn't bad.

There was good band sin 80ties X-Cretre, Acid and some 10 othe rgod bands what I forgot search in vibrationsofdoom.com and in nowdays there are some good doom bands too but Im to lazy to search

I have no idea what happened with those two, but I guess one is listening to Dir En grey, Buck-Tick, Gazette and similar bands, and I guess the other one recently returned with a new nickname after he needed a break from online metal activity. It is just a guess..

I haven't heard the new album yet. The last news I have heard about that album is that it will be the last album released by Fluisterwoud, after that they would split up, right? I guess I will give it a try if the reviews are positive.

I was just browsing through this thread again, and well, Blackgir almost hit it spot on haha, though I'm still vividly listening to metal Actually a bit more nowadays, since I'm lacking new releases a bit on the jrock front. I'm still around on the site, but not posting anymore, just checking reviews, news and alike.

Haven't been to Baroeg for a while now, last time I wanted to go there was for Diablo Swing Orchestra, but I missed out on that cause of slight illness. But well, yesterday I was at Textures and Arch Enemy at Amsterdam , and Textures was really good, loving their latest album And a bit before I was at Paganfest which was pretty awesome as well. Unfortanetly no festivals for me this summer, because Im going on a trip to Sweden which will make me end up pretty damn broke haha. But one thing I'm really looking forward to is Arkona playing in the Netherlands in July
