Yes I do see where your going with it, and as much as Id like to film a Manowar music video up there I couldnt. That was actually a pretty tough hike, it looks like a gentle slope, but really it was more a pretty steep slope with loose rocks and a cliff about 100 ft from the peak. You cant really see it from the pic but the camera was pointing parralel with the ridge/peak (which was pretty not flat at the top), which is what we followed to get to the top, in total about a 6 or 7 hour hike. Im trying to find better pics so you can see the view from where I was standing, absolutely beautiful, Ill post them here when I find them.

man its been ages since anyones posted in here.

Has any other Canadians been to any of the shows on the Dimmu Borgir/DevilDriver/Kataklysm/Unearth tour? I went about a month ago and it was amazing, DevilDriver stole the show for me becasue even though Dimmu was good I found them kind of boring and lacking in stage presence.

hello people. i came back from canada on tuesday and i just want to say i really liked your country. i was in quebec and montreal, and both cities are really cool. i was lucky i was in montreal during the F1 race, it was incredible. and the architecture of the old part of quebec was awsome. i wish i can go back there some time soon!

Did you find the music you were looking for? (I believe you were asking about music stores before you left?). And Im actually quite envious of you, its been about 6 or 7 years since Ive been to Quebecand theyre more appreciative the arts on that side of the country.

I live in Southern Ontario...it doesn't get too cold here in the winter anymore and we only have 2-3 months when it snows...it's because of the jet stream is right above us and because of its constant fluctuations we enjoy pretty warm weather yet unstable weather conditions too...our hottest day was 38 degrees a few years ago...it doesn't get down to -20 anymore like it used to...

it hasn't gotten down to -20 since I was in grade school. The winters used to be the best back then I could have a hockey rink in my backyard but now that could never happen at the most you might get to skate on it for like 1 or 2 days it hardly gets cold at all.

Oh so global warming finally has taken a serious hold? I couldnt tell if it actually was happening or it was just alberta, I havnt spent more that 2 months (in the summer at most) in Ontario since I was 11. Its been 7 years apprx, and I still cant tell you what a typical alberta winter is.

Here at my campus they're draining a pond and enlarging it...to do this they're taking down a lot of beautiful trees that have been there for ages...there's already an environmental protest group doing a blockade where all the work is...I hate how my school takes our money and does all of this environmentally damaging info structure

@Kap'N

You should see it in Alberta, we dont have much forest to begin with, but now there expanding Calgary at a shocking rate, I live in North Calgary and everytime I visit the south end I notice the city limits have expanded by a few neighbourhoods, seriously a small village gets added onto the city yearly, and not interesting stuff either or anything worth visiting, just boring, overpriced cookie-cutter housing.

Alberta sucks, its possibly the most americanized of the provinces, everyone thinks there cowboys, we have no concern for local arts (why the local music scene barely exists). a whole province of 4-wheel driving cowboy Nickleback listenin' yuppies.....ugh Nickleback *shudders*

Not really, Im gonna be going to this Noctis Valkyries festival in my city in a few weeks (you may have seen the banner on the top of the page for it).

The line-up is like this:
Melechesh
Inquisition
Infernal Majesty
Verbal Deception
Dark Forest
Wolves In The Throne Room
Insidious Omen
Norrath
Wargod
Lords Of The Mountain

Yeah, a few of those bands are really shitty 15 year olds local bands *cough cough Wargod*, but other than that it should be a good black/folk metal fest. and the very next night, in the same venue Im gonna be seeing Cannibal Corpse with Black Dahlia Murder, The Red Chord, The Absence, and Goatwhore. Im not really into any of those other band but CC is gonna be sweet.

Thats it as far as interesting stories from this side of the country

havnt been here in months....actually, havnt spent much time here since i picked up a guitar..

anywho, i just wanna say that for that canada day weekend, my buddies and i went on a road trip over to montreal, and ottawa. on the way there, we got lost, and enjoyed our time at this lil town called 'tweed' there is this icecream parlor there, i highly recomend you going to it if you're in the area.

and also...it was never really my thing until now. i went to that jazz festival, or 'the jazz festival' as they were playing everything but jazz in montreal. and i had a blast. and then i enjoyed my time there further more coz the people there are...well, not just nice, BUT FUCKING BEAUTIFUL! i was actually shocked to not find any average, or below average looking people there. and my standards are very high. but seriously, montreal is beautiful. and the music scene there is fairly cool too. i walked into some weird cd store there(forgot the name) and i wasnt really planning on buying anything, but i walked out with 5 cds from that store, and then 3 others from the hmv there.

and then ottawa...i'm in love with that city. not only was everyone so friendly there, but the entire atmosphere was so relaxing and just fun. everyone was really supportive of one another. was fun. though i wouldnt dream of living there during winters....slippery slopes and all that...no fun
