i dont mean movies that are SO good that they blow your minds. i'm talking about movies that were either horrible, or so weird that they fucked your mind with sever headaches for being so weird, or random, or confusing, or slow or whatever....they are basically created to induce migraines

so what some movies that induce insane migraines? i would vote Donni Darko, and The Machinest

reason why i pick donni darko is becuase the whole movie was so dry and random. from a weird fucked up guy dressed in a bunny suit, to einstines E=MC square theory, to weird projectiles comming out of peoples bodies to one of the slowest, and pointless plots ever made. it was a really bizar movie that almost semt like it came out of the twilight zone

the machinist coz he is running away from himself, or soemthing. he is dreaming, yet he hasnt slept for over a year...its one bizare movie with weird de-ja vu and other weirdness. i still dont get what the movie was teaching me...

what are your mind fucks?

What's so mindfucking about The Matrix?

The fact that everything is fake and that humans only serves as batteries for robots. The way they portait humans as viruses.Everything in that movie makes it a mindfuck because you do not know what<s real or not. What you feel, what you think, what you see and ear...is there any proof that it is all real?It is a great mindfucking question and the Matrix exploit that question with sucess.

I think you're over complicating it. Why shouldn't it be real? Everything is clear from the start to the end, and I don't think that's a mindfucking movie .

The storyline itself is really straightforward I agree but the questions you ask yourself at the end of the movie are mindbusting imo.

The minfuck I had with Irréversible is first the camera that appears to be filming everything non stop(even if the story is told backward) and the feeling of guilt I got from watching the rape scene even if it was just a movie.

My weird mind fucking movies: I'll just mention 4 for now:

Antichrist: very good movie although a really difficult one, a lot of symbolism, maybe a movie to see more times, but I don't have the guts right now, maybe in a few years.

Audition: weird, violent and disturbing movie, although directed nicely.

Martyrs: very violent and disturbing movie, not for the faint-hearted.

Carnival of Souls (1962): a very weird movie, but I loved it - the acting and the directing were great IMO. The story was not difficult to get into and the twist at the end rather predictable, but it was quite suspenseful. Intentionally shot in black and white, there wouldn't have been the same effect had it been in colour.

That reminds me I still have Audition to watch.. I'm gonna check Antichrist. I watched the trailer and seemed very interesting.

Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway were pretty disturbing. But almost everything by David Lynch is, right? ahah
I can't remember more mind fucking movies cause I havent seen a lot of those recently, maybe The Fourth Kind, but I dont think it really fits this category.

I love that movie! Dark, haunting and has that amazing atmosphere only some black and white horror movies has. And yes, the end was very predictable.

I just included it because of the three paralleling storylines and especially the one in the future. You're right, not exactly a mindfuck but it's a movie that makes you think.

Hard Candy. I watched half of it (the other half) yesterday. I've seen my fair share of mindfucking movies, but this one takes the cake. I recommend
Anyway this teenage girl seduces an alleged pedophile only to have him tortured psychologically (like, belief that he's going to get castrated), and in the end convincing him to suicide. Though we learn near the end of the movie that he indeed has pedophile urges and that he participated in the killing of another teenage girl, so his fate seems justified.

Yeah Hard Candy is a great thriller andf the fact that it is based on actual real life experience (Japanese girls dating older mens online and beating them once they meet) is quite troubling.Personally I think Pedophiles deserves to be hang by the balls and that movie delivered just that

Couldn't agree more. The movie was kind of disturbing to watch as a man (jesus, just think if you were lying on that "operation table"), but it was a good thriller. And after all, it made many people's wish come true: pedophile getting a nightmare ride which he deserved. Tho there could have been more humilation
When you take into account that the whole movie happens in a small house with only 2 characters, you have to give a praise to the director and writer.

From candy to creaks of machines. IMO whole SAW trilogy is "mind fucking". Ye, they made it rather long and it started to repeat itself, but yet the trilogy kept the storyline rather solid. It's interesting to watch the first movie and think "Oh, just another Hostel.", but then comes the second and you start to think the plot all over again and reconsider the actions of the characters. I loved those "reveals" in 4th or 5th movie which showed the past events in a whole new light.

Yeah, I know I wouldn't wanna be there.

And yeah, for such a limited space and cast, the movie is awesome, although I don't usually like it that way. For that reason alone I didn't want to try watching Paranormal Activity

They're just trying to squeeze every buck possible form the franchise. I mean, the first movie was really awesome, and maybe even the second or the third, but this is getting absurd. You can't make a new movie each year and quality one for that matter (not that they care about quality).
All this sounds like a Friday the 13th all over again. Sometimes you need to quit while you're ahead.

I feel the same way as Kennoth with the SAW movies they just raped a great movie to make some sequel that are ridiculous and repetitive.Jusut like they did with Final Destination.

Saw Possession yesterday, starring Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. I think this one clearly belongs to the list of mindfucks. It can be compared to von Trier's Antichrist but the latter was quite tame in comparison to that one, IMO. Both are basically about a relationship falling apart and the woman acting strangely but Possession leaves the meanings much more obscure. Truly recommended.

If anyone can get a version of SALO (Italian adaptation of 101 days of Sodom by Marquee de Sade), let me know what you think. I vote for the butterknife in the anus scene.

Haha >.< I totally forgot about that film. I don't think I've ever seen so much excrement in any film, truly a fucked up piece of work.

But yeah, problem with the Saw films is that they cost naff all to make (well 10 mil) and always end up making 1000% profit. They should have stopped after the second one. The third one was too brutal, the scene where the female doctor gets her head blown off ranks as the most gratuitous for me personally, along with the scene in Pan's Labrynth where the guy gets his skull caved in with the butt of a gun. They might not be the most graphic ever but the contexts in which they happen are just too much.

It might have been mentioned due to its notoriety but I watched The Human Centipede the other day, where a crazy German surgeon kidnaps three people and surgically sews them ass-to-mouth. It was actually not that shocking and not a bad film in the end.

Not that shocking? Well, your mileage may vary, cause it sure as hell was shocking for me. What kind of sick, twisted mind would come up with something like that?

Anyway, mind fucking movies. Hrm, the entire David Lynch canon for a start (minus The Straight Story), but ESPECIALLY Eraserhead and Inland Empire. Also, a lot of David Cronenberg movies. I love him, he's one of my favourite directors of all time, but for a lot of his movies, just... WHAT??? Check out The Brood and his short film (actually 65 minutes) Stereo for his best mindfuck moments.
