As far as I'm concerned it's quality black metal

+5000 Songs in only ONE song, and all with funny names... like: Hitler was cool, Living Colour is my favorite black metal band, internet is gay. Anyway, all the songs names says EVERYTHING is gat

As for balleycasting, I'm not absolutely absorbed in arena music for the masses or affability into becks. I'm added absorbed in balleycasting a clandestine beck for myself if I'm on the alley. It's a lot easier than carriage a ton of CDs about or overloading my laptop with MP3s. I don't anticipate absorb will absolutely be an affair if it's a clandestine beck, but I could be amiss.

In that case more than 2/3of power, black, deatm grindcore or just more than 2/3 metal would be joke bands not to be taken seriously basd on lyrics alone.

While I don't think Ghost is a joke band, I can see where he's coming from.
If you mix the music from one of the chase scenes in Scooby Doo with lyrics like "S-A-T-A-N, invoke the King of Hell!" you're bound to set off some "dafuq?" alerts.

Although, that is just their gimmick, which doesn't make them a joke band.

Haha I don't know about fimmicky.
I still don't get what's the big deal about Ghost. If they were 4 normal dudes who everyone new and dressed like every other band onstage, I don't think they would have gotten so big.
I mean there are tons of other bands playing the same music, but much better.

Here's what I understand a gimmick as. Something with little substance that is different, but will only provide entertainment for a limited time. I don't see that with Ghost, it's not cheese, it all makes sense, and if they were to have a 20 year+ career doing exactly what they do, I wouldn't get tired of it, well I don't think I would.

That's just the way I see it though; nevertheless I do not see Ghost as a gimmicky band in any way.

Well Stormtroopers of Death was at first just a joke really, Cannabis Corpse and Psychostick also come to mind.

But seriously, joke bands are pretty much never funny, and since I don't give a crap about lyrics in general, joke bands pretty much worthless unless they have good music. Like Lawnmower Deth, and Immortal.

Seems like a pretty accurate description. Not that I'm bashing them - some of my favorite bands are gimmicky. After all, you're talking about gimmicks to a guy whose favorite genres are black and death metal... pretty much about as gimmicky as it gets, with the possible exception of power metal.

God damn dictionary foiling me again!!! The only part of that definition I agree with is "ingenious" lol In Ghost's case anyways. I think it's kind of up to interpretation whether their whole deal is a "scheme" or not. I don't think so, I understand why you would though. In any case, I love me some Ghost xD
