I was doing an assignment on avant garde metal, and ended up on the article: The Avant Garde And How To Swing It by Insineratehymn.

I've always been intersted in rock/metal music, so I like to read articles, news, whatever about it; sometimes I just google "metal news" and I get several options... MS was one of them so I decided to take a look at it, read some articles, news and finally I liked a lot; and now I'm an semi-active member. Apart from all the news, articles and new/unknown bands, I got interested in the forums; to my surprise, I saw that a lot of young people enter here and post some well thought/intelligent opinions, not just the usual BS as on most e-mags: "yeahh", "that sucks...", "haters", "posers", etc.......

Was searching for discographies of bands i liked, then started rating.

In all reality I was looking for a good wide range metal community, I think I found one.

A good friend of mine introduced me to this site.

I was looking for a good metal website with a good metal community. Love you guys.

I searched heavy metal website on google, and well here I am.

My buddy introduced me to Finntroll and Wintersun back in 07 or 08 so I went online to spread my knowledge of the underground. Pretty quick to get in scuffles here, lost (lose) them all, then kept coming back to check in on my enemies and post rambling, opaque, guest reviews. Grew up slightly, pulled my head out of my ass n all that, and realized how little I know about metal... like two months ago.

Now it's kind of a compulsive thing. I like MS. It's prettier than its peers.

I've been a member since 2003, but have had long periods where I was not active. I initially found the site while searching for anything/everything heavy metal.

Hehe, i have two friends end up here the same way you did, and they only use Metalstorm once in a year, just to vote in the MS award.

The thing I noticed is here that I love is that in my 3 years I've never seen any "slow period". There's enough of people that post regularly to keep the forums alive.

Exactly. And its never to much. Able to spend hours on here.

I have seen the "101 rules of power metal" in another website, translated to portuguese, and there it was a mention " article taken from metalstorm.ee" So I decided to check it out, and well, here I am

How did I end up here? Just complete chance! I was googling something to do with metal (I cant remember exactly what it was now, it may have been Encyclopedia Metallum... lol), and this site was amongst the search results. So I just checked it out, out of curiosity, and that was it!

Damn! I noticed that i've been here longer than bad english and i barely have even 2% of the posts he has

I can't remember how i got my ass on here, its was a looonnng time ago. But if i'm not mistaken it was the compilation and the radio MS had. Damn i miss those

I've been here for longer than him as well. Not that it matters.

same looking for metal and comented nice girl pics in old galery but after month I realy stick whit site and after 2 bands I quit posting alcoholical non sence and realy stuck whit site
