I allways found Australia to have a special kind of charm and want to visit it someday, however some things prevented me:
1: long distance
2: Heat, I simply can't stand heat and have also an heat allergy
3: big spiders

I heard of many people here that there are quite a lot of Dutchies in Australia is that true?

I can understand people who dont like spiders because... well they are a freaky little arthropod.
But seriously, how often do we encounter them enough to disrupt our lifestyles? Hardly an issue.

Distance is ok, travelling is good fun. Besides, not often you need to travel.

I'm guessing a few of you would have gone to see Carcass, how were they? I was planning on going, but ultimately couldn't make it, pretty cut about that.

I didn't get to see them. Still debating whether I want to go see Led Zeppelin. If not, my next event will be when the WWE hits Sydney next year, haha.

Carcass' show was good, but think I enjoyed Down a little bit more. At the strip club after the gig, Jeff and Bill (Carcass) walked past the smokers cage and we tried to get them to come in, but didn't work, haha. Was a great trip though.

Hahaha when would you drive 20 hours? Unless maybe you were touring around Australia? From Brisbane to Sydney its about 10-11 hours, Sydney to Melbourne probably the same or a little bit more. You arent going to drive much furthr than that in a day. Besides there are cheap flights ($100 i think) inter-city.
If you moved here however, why would you be travelling since you dont need to travel to see family etc?

Well they did break up in October - taken from them, a number of sources, and a friend who hangs out with the band a fair bit have said the same thing.

I knew about their break-up and soon reforming, but I hadn't heard about this new break-up. Hopefully it will be as short lived as their last one!

You know what sucks, when you finish studying for the year (in 3 weeks), and there are no bands touring that you want to see live! When i started studying i missed about 6 of my favourite bands because of it and also moving didnt help.........

Haha too true. Hard to believe that there's so little metal tours over the summer holidays this year, considering there were tons last year.

Perhaps Iron Maiden could come back again in February... make it an annual tour thing

Hey Will, not sure if I'm going to make the Grave and GOTH gig. Got some tattoo work and other things that are (hard to believe with one of my fav bands last gig!) somewhat more important at the moment. Plus my mate who was supposed to be coming has the lack of funds (...again).

The Aus Summer Slaughter tour looks pretty cool though - Dying Fetus and Aborted! Sound be great fun and should be going to that. Too bad it's in march though
