Hooo God, it's good to listen to the new album of Mr Ron Thal, especially when you know that it is probably one of his best (if it's not the best). "Normal" the new Bumblefoot's last release is out and if you like guitar heroes, great lyrics and groovy music, no way, you cannot miss this little jewel.

First I'm sure that a lot of you don't know Bumblefoot yet. Actually it won't be easy for me to do a good and right description of the music of the band because like with their mates of Freak Kitchen, the music of Bumblefoot doesn't follow the general Metal trends. To sum up, Bumblefoot plays Hard Rock mixed with Prog Metal, Groovy music, psychedelic stuff with some touches of "Guitar hero" spirit. Hum well I don't know if you got it but at least in 2 words it's a really good music believe me.

"Normal" is for me, the best release of Bumblefoot. Why? Well, this time Ron Thal did something "direct", I mean that it is only effective and really easy of access. The songs like "Normal", "Rock Star For A Day" or "Real" are simply pure hits, it's not hard of access, the melodies are catchy as hell and the terrific soli of Mr Thal fit perfectly with the riffs and the melodies?

But like with Freak Kitchen, the strong point, of Bumblefoot in addition of the mega soli and super riffs and vocals, comes from the lyrics. Sometime really funny, some other time serious or sarcastic, it's a real pleasure to read (and sing) the lyrics when you listen to the music. Isn't it just the mark of the great compositors? Yes it is?

Honestly I cannot find a bad point on this album, except maybe that the ones who only want strict and basic Metal will be deranged by the music of Bumblefoot that can mix, funk or groovy stuff with Metal. But on the other hand if you're a bit open minded if you like the guitar (and the great guitarists) and want to listen to music that will put you in the "good mood mode" you will have to check this excellent album.

Woaw, it's good to see that Ron Thal and his Bumblefoot band is back in the place with a super album, better than ever. It's just some great music produced by an amazing guitarist so follow my advice, run to your record dealer and buy "Normal". I'm sure, yes I'm, that you'll agree with me to say that it is one of the best and fresh releases of the year 2005.
