The trolls are back and have never sounded so comfortable in their own skin. Nifelvind is album number five, and once again shows another step in the direction of complete musical freedom. This is an album where chaos is summoned and fit into place to form a well-rounded and quirky piece of work to remember.

Nifelvind is one of those kitchen sink albums where every idea, no matter how weird was kept and used in some way. Each song on the album has it's own separate identity, be it an up-beat, sing-along folk metal classic such as "Under Bergets Rot", acoustic troll encounter "Galgasång", or Finntroll almost oriental style with "Ett Norrskensdåd". Slower, heavier songs meet with black metal pandemonium, but whatever the style, you're always going to find some weird and wonderful instrument accompanying it somewhere along the line.

Great album, but it is rather Black Folk than Extreme Folk!

I was really feeling this album. Every song on the album is really solid. Definitely enjoy listening to this album full way through or especially on some road through the forest at night!

Agree, but you miss this song "Dråp", this one is fantastic. I'm sure that you have a very good A.I. to get an answer from you about your opinion =) .

It took me quite a while to get used to the current vocalist, but once I did, I fell right back in love with Finntroll. This album is so fun and so enjoyable

Best song on the album is Under Bergets Rot by a long way. Album doesn't flow as well as the other Finntroll releases imo... but listenable none the less. 8/10

I Think my problem with this album is that it was too dark. I really like some of these songs a lot more when I mix them in with other Finntroll songs. But overall I feel either this or Midnattens Widunder are my least favorite finntroll albums. Since MW was their first album I have to say this is worse though it's still a really good album I still appreciate the songs just not as much as the previous albums.
