Great review here, you really went above and beyond.

Pretty cool stuff, I really like this album!!

Listened to it for the first time in a long time. I love it, a lot more so than I remember liking it in the past.

Eater of birds is more intense, but gin has this Tool vibe I really like. It's like tool going black metal.
Still not sure which one I prefer, though.

Such a good album. Not as massive as Eater of Birds, but it's smarter and clearer.

Nope, Gin's the one that gets more acclaim than Eater of Birds, and that's how it should be.

Gin is the more popular, but that's probably because many people don't bother to look further back in their discog, but Eater of Birds is the more consistently higher rated if you look around (here, MA, RYM). Rightly so, more focussed than this is.

^ Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Eater of Birds might be the more extreme and dark album but I can't agree about the consistency. To me, some of the instrumentals on Eater Of Birds cut a bit of the flow from the album. I love its ferocity though. Depends on what you want. I like Gin more when I want a more intricate and intelligent approach to the savagery.

Well, looks like I'm going to have to listen to both haha.

The drummer tries a bit too hard. I liked it, especially "Two Thumbed Fist".

This album sounds so mature. Such a great progressive approach to black metal.
