Without doubt, the heaviest and angriest album that Pantera put out. Its far from perfect, but in it's best moments, its a searing, furious album. And of course, it contains "Floods" which features a truly magical solo from Dimebag. <3

Definitely heavy. Good, energy-packed album.

The ballads like "10s" and "Floods" are what saves this album from being mediocre, those songs are up with Pantera's best material. You can tell they had been listening to Soundgarden and Alice in Chains and this is their take on that style but with the trademark Pantera aggression.

Very good album, but their weakest from the 90s. "13 Steps to nowhere" and "Floods" are my favourites here.

Yeah Floods is a phenomenal song.
Personal favourite is Suicide Note Pt II - that's some extreme shit.
Those two songs are my faves on the album. "Floods" is just beautiful, whilst "Suicide Note Pt II" is a searing cut which sounds totally demented, but in a good way!

This is the Pantera album metal-archives will tell you is their best. Haha. They try to experiment a lot here, and are clearly fresh out of ideas. Inner turmoil was starting to set in here, and so were Phil's drug problems, and it shows. Easily, the most filler of their prime era releases. Still some nice Dime riffs to be had though, so it's not completely worthless.
Whilst I agree with your assessment, I can't help but really enjoy this one when I listen to it!
I actually went a little hard on it, I just re-listened to it all the way through and there are indeed some really great moments. Dime is still great and Phil is in good form, for the most part. Maybe a high 6 or 7 ranking.

Disagreed heavily. I for one find this much better than both Far Beyond Driven and Reinventing The Steel. The anger makes it more palpable (and interesting) than either of those albums.

Far Beyond Driven has some shaky moments, but Dime is still a riff machine on that album. All in all, I find Trendkill more patchy and the filler is scattered throughout in my opinion. I'm sorry I wasn't even counting Reinventing the Steel, I admit I haven't listened to that one enough to judge it.

Been listening to Trendkill last few days, my score has went from 6 to 8. I stand corrected, damn fine album, better than I remember. Now for some Reinventing the Steel.

WHAT?! A different opinion!?! KILL HIM!!¡!
Serioulsy, I'm not a big Pantera Fan, but this is okay. I agree with the earlier comment about filler, which is the problem with every Pantera release.

I enjoyed this more than CFH - more groove and aggression with less filler.
"10's" and "Suicide Note, Pt. 1" were pretty lifeless and - oddly enough - I didn't enjoy "Floods" as much as everyone else seems to have. I thought it was quite boring...even that ending

I was avoiding this record all my life for reasons unknown to me. IMO you have to be angry to really enjoy Pantera, and I usually found other way to quench my fury. But today I put it on and daaamn boy it's so good.

This album is as bad as their previous groove albums. Maybe the track I respect the most is Drag the Water because of the lyrics, but that does not mean I respect the album. I don't like the first line of the song War Nerve "F the World" and nor should you. S Note I and II are disturbing songs also. As a matter of fact, I don't trust the rest of the album.

A severely underrated album imho, probably my favorite from them. Even so i like all of their albums, with reinventing the steel being the weakest. I just can't get enough of this album, some of my favorites are Suicide note Part 1 & 2, floods and drag the waters. I also love the fucking riff in sandblasted skin, a killer closer.
