I think that the albums listed below are underrated.
Even those albums that are rated more than 8.6, should've made it to the top 200, or higher in that list. It's not only the score, but also the low amount of attention from the metal community to some of these albums.
Albums are in no particular order.
No, I am not fond of Euro power metal.

This is by far one of the stupidest lists I have ever seen. 99% of these bands are some of the most popular bands in metal, and some even in general (Van Halen, Metallica, etc.)

How are Metallica, Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Type O Negative, System Of A Down, Megadeath, Guns N' Roses, and every other band here underrated?

Thank you for your polite response.
Now read the header: I wrote that these albums deserved a higher rating in the site (in my opinion). Never said the bands were underrated, but maybe your English is faulty, or you felt like bashing someone.
Thank you for reading the list and taking the time to respond.

You say the following in the header:
Quote:
It's not only the score, but also the low amount of attention from the metal community to these albums.

Most of the albums you call "Irrirtatingly Underrated" in the title of this list actually get huge amounts of attention from the metal community. Instead of saying VIG's might be faulty it seems that your English is faulty. And how on earth is his comment bashing you? He just states his opinion, which I happen to agree with.

Funny - there are 63 albums here, most of them didn't make the top 200. Most of them are considered second best. You guys see Among the living and Countdown To Extinction and miss 80-90% of this list with albums like Soul Of A New Machine,Scenario IV: Dread Dreams ,Not Dead Yet ,or Collective demise - and 50+ other albums. So Marcel, as he is entitled to his opinion (and he speaks of the bands, not albums. English. All Anthrax albums were made in the same quality?), sure am entitled to mine, even if you think I'm wrong.
When I write about the attention of the community I mean this community - many albums here have less than 200 ratings, some less than 100.
Metren - funny pun aside, those albums are perfect 10s for me. So in a way, they are underrated too (;

I think I kind of see where You're coming from. A work of art can be massively appreciated and still underrated in some sense, I guess. There are a few such works that people love that I personally feel still aren't loved enough - or perhaps not for the right reasons. It's just that I disagree with most of the choices on Your list, that's why I wrote that comment. Glad You didn't take offense

P.S. Painkiller is a 7, Number is an 8 and Blackwater Park is a 9 in my book

Got me there. For example, Deicide's first album blows my head off each time I hear it after so many years. I can't understand why others don't see it that "perfect 10" way. I really enjoy that Raise Hell album, but it seems people don't care about it too much.

P.P.S. Your list gave me the idea of making a list of overrated albums just for fun... thanks

....most of them didn't make the top 200. Most of them are considered second best.
....albums like Soul Of A New Machine....

there"s a reason albums like Soul of a new Machine are considered also rans
it absolutely is a very good album, but clearly not Demanufacture or Mechanize
is it better than Transgression, Digimortal and Genexus? easily
better than Industrialist and Archetype? probably
better than Obsolete? maybe
still, it"s not their best, end even that doesn"t make the top 200 on here

Haha, that's like saying "compose your own Metal album and upload it here, instead of writing a review of an album".

It's one way too see it. When examining it by itself (without comparing to the other FF albums) I see it as a very innovative album (1992) to it's time. It is a very special, dark, violent and as I said - innovative album. It's not Just Burton using growl and clean vocals, it's not the machine-like drumming, not the no solos, it's the whole thing. It's rated 7.5 here.

Soul Of A New Machine is indeed extremely underrrated. Like you say it is an extremely innovative album. I remember hearing it when it was released and how it blew me, and almost everyone else (journalists and fans and other bands alike) away due to it being so innovative.
That albums score of 7.5 is way way too low.

I felt the same way. Heard it ("Martyr") on the radio when it got out, just after Guns and Roses and Ugly Kid Joe songs, and It was like "Wow! What was the name of that band again???"
