The early 90's was a time when metal in general was really beginning to push the boundaries of music, with lyrics becoming more extreme, the sound becoming even heavier and more brutal, the vocals becoming harsher, and the album covers becoming even more gruesome and sicker.

Another excellent album by Dismember, though I prefer the band's debut by a margin. On this album I think the instrumental performance is less melodic and more vicious, but that's not to say it's any less effective. "9th Circle" and "Dreaming in Red" would be my personal highlights, if only for the brilliantly written intros.

Except the masterpiece "Dreaming in Red" (with one of the best riffs ever) and maybe "Reborn In Blasphemy" the rest is like a filler.

True, but IMHO "Dreaming In Red" is one of or maybe even THE best DM hymn ever written. This song alone deserves a slightly higher rating...

Enjoyable death metal with great riffs throughout! Their debut is clearly superior, but this is also some solid headbanging material!
Like others have mentioned, "Dreaming in Red" is a true gem!
