Man, I can't agree with you more. I can't really get past the first few tracks of this baby, even after listening to the whole album through repeatedly (BY FORCE).
Although I really enjoyed Be'lakor's latest...I kind of felt the whole progressive Australian vibe to it and I was entertained. This one lacks a prominent vibe altogether...

Well, the thing is all of the songs on this album have very good moments and solos and all that, but then there were many boring parts. Do give it a comprehensive listen though. You will find some unforgettable hooks all over the album.

yeah I agree!
Sometimes this album is boring for me, specially "Pale Eye Revelation" and "With You Came Silence", but sometimes I cannot hear anything else but this album.

I still fail to see why everyone is comparing Opeth and In Mourning to each other, they sound nothing alike.

Maybe you haven't listened to Opeth enough because In Mourning definitely have a similar vibe in their music. "The Smoke" as I mentioned in the review sounds quite like an Opeth song. They also alternate between growl and clean singing as well as heavy and clean passages.

Now thats one stupid analogy if I ever read one. "They alternate between growls and clean singing/ heavy and clean passages". Now thats a clincher isnt it? Why didnt you also mention Insomnium and pretty much every band in this genre? How many bands out there today are so unique as to not have any similarities to any other bands? Very few I think...
I think this album is pretty fabulous actually, and goes to show that you dont have to be flashy and include 3 solos in a melo-death album to make it a good record - doing the basics right is what they wanted on this album and to my mind they achieved it. They could have so easily gone the other route, but instead they made an album with enough diversity without trying to reinvent the wheel. One of the year's best in the genre if you ask me.

Don't worry, you're not the only one... I am also not sure why people would compare the two bands.
As for the one member's explanation, that doesn't clarify the comparison...

Keep in mind, that those 'boring' parts might be there for a reason... for example to create a contrast between epic parts and less epic parts - if the whole album was one climax after another, I can assure you, you wouldn't have appreciate the 'epic parts' that much. It's like with most things in general, you need one side to shed the spotlight on another.

I agree I also fail to see the similarities. And also not in vibe. The only similarity between the two is that both play metal

Very true, I guess it's easier for people to digest music if they have some 'framework' to compare it with

Personally I felt that the variation (aka slow parts) in this album is what makes it so awesome.

I am on the first spins of this album and I feel this review is 100% spot on. Congrats for the review, though I hope their next albums won't need such reviews, cause this guys really have potential...
