Ravage know this, and that's why they did a little tribute to Iron Maiden in this 6 track Mini Cd, and by a little tribute, I mean, they're not playing covers, but doing own song with all the style of the Maidens, copycats? Maybe, but they're good at it!
I must say, If Iron Maiden wouldn't be so present in almost each Metalhead collection, this band would rock! That doesn't take away the fact that they're really good doing their stuff, the songs are well-crafted and each one has catchy chorus and a lot of hooks.
Listen to the opener, "Curse Of heaven" a fantastic song that embodies perfectly the Maiden spirit , while the vocals are not as good as Mr. Dickinson, they're quite acceptable.
Songs like "Terror's head" and "The Wicked Way" shouts out loud "YES! We're Iron Maiden fans!"
Is nothing wrong with this record, seriously, I'm sorry for mentioning the Maidens more than the band, Ravage, but is pretty obvious that this guys tried to copy the Maidens and while they're pretty skilled at doing that, I don't see much future for a band that tries to copy every pattern of another.
Hope that they mature as musicians and come up with some material that reflects their own musicianship and not the one from their influences. If you want to hear great songs with all the Iron Maiden spirit, please take a look at Ravage, not the most original band, but a skilled one.
