I don't believe it. Imaginations From The Other Side is IMHO the peak of power and quality for the band.

Underrated.

I agree, seems modern BG fans, knows only bad after Nightfal albums, hardly know classics
That's why I hate reviews and listen albums from 1th in order .... (if I can get of corse)

Very good, should have IMO a global MS rating of something like 8.3, not 7.8 as it has now. But well, I'm not the only one to decide, right?

The sophomore álbum of Blind Guardian follows the root of the first one, but i think this one is slightly better. Songs like "Banish From Sanctuary", "Follow the Blind" and "Valhalla" are absolute killers. Classic Blind Guardian!

Yeah you're way off on that one you've obviously not listened to everything else they released after this album, every album in the 90s is better than Follow The Blind

Not as memorable as the debut but still great speed metal. Their cover of Don't Break The Circle is pretty damn nice as well.

Nah I like it the way it is. Speed metal should be a bit dirty and unpolished. If anything they should do a tour playing only pre-Imaginations songs, that would be sweet.

Pre-Imaginations songs is an excellent idea.
Imaginations is an excellent album, but something changed with this band at Imaginations, starting with the production, something major.
Pre-Imaginations is what this band has always been for me, it is so outstanding, so unique.

Yes nothing against the stuff they did on Imaginations and onward but it would be a lot of fun if they would to a tour like that, also putting Hansi on the bass again would be pretty cool, now that's a show I would like to see! One can always dream

For the meantime I can recommend to go back to the ingenious Tokyo Tales live album.

Probably should do that, Banish from Sanctuary is brutal on that one!

Very good album, I listened it yesterday. It has more classic speed metal sound, different than later albums from this band that I know. Strong album, 8/10 for me after first listen. Perhaps I would like also their debut.

Perhaps I would like also their debut.

If you like Follow the Blind you will almost certainly also like Battalions Of Fear. The albums are so much alike, it isnt even funny any more (if you ask me).

Given the quality of this album, I'd say it deserves a better rating. There isn't a bad song on it, perhaps Fast to Madness is a little weak compared to the other tracks, but it's not bad. I was surprised to hear Valhalla for the first time, as I didn't expect Kai Hansen to participate, which made the experience even better, I've always liked his vocal style.

Quite thrashy and definitely heaviest Guardian album so far, which starts with relentlessly catchy assault called "Banish From Sanctuary"! Next highlight is a glorious "Valhalla", with on of the most infectious sing-along melody of all time! This two songs along with "Majesty" from Battalions Of Fear is still one of the biggest hits in a band marvelous career. As for the other songs - they all good, fast and heavy, but lacks some identity. 8.5/10

What Majesty1911 said. BfS and Valhalla are stand out songs until today but there are no fillers here only fast and heavy stuff! Absolute fan and one of my alltzime faves!
