01. Cold Blue Steel
02. Tales From A Winter Come
03. Nostalgiaplatz
04. My Starving Bambina
05. Love Story
06. L'epoque Noire (March The 7th 12973 AD)
07. Onirica East
08. Foto Blu Infinito
09. Winter
10. Outro - Spirit Of The Forest (Tales From A Winter Come - Reprise)
11. Colour Of An Eye [2008 re-issue bonus]
12. Tales From A Winter To Come [demo] [2008 re-issue bonus]
13. Winter 1941 [demo] [2008 re-issue bonus]

With very seductive cover-art, Novembre released their third full length effort Classica with a sorted out production which was lacking in their previous releases. Everything seems to be going on on the album so it's very hard to categorize in which genre exactly the album falls into. Starting from serious intense riffing, death/doom growls and grunts to clean vocals, acoustic and melodious sections, each song is different in its own unique way. Even keyboards are also used by Carmelo Orlando who wrote most of the music for the album.

So you might probably think, "oh another blender of all music" sort of album but surprisingly it's not.

Certainly the lead guitar is the driving force for the album. It is crafted beautifully and flows with each song perfectly. Generally the album is placed into mid tempos occasionally building into slower and faster passages. If the first two tracks, "Cold Blue Steel' and "Tales From A Winter To Come" surprise you with great guitar performance then the third track "Nostalgiaplatz" will certainly devour you with its very distant and melodious tone under which clean vocals are layered perfectly.

Overall the whole album is a very interesting take on the death/doom genre with a progressive approach. With each spin certainly it becomes more melodic, powerful and above all meaningful. It might be that hidden treasure buried underneath and you just have to pick it up.

Nice review, although a but short, don't you think?
Anyways, this is a really good album. Agreed on the highlighted tracks. This may very well be my third most favourite Novembre, after The Blue and the majestic Novembrine Waltz.

Yeah but the problem was its such a tricky album to write a review on, cause either u hate whats goin on in the album or you love it and i was inbetween love and hate but after many many listens, the album became a little bit clearer to me

I want this, but Novembre albums are kinda hard to come by in the U.S. I never got too much into Materia and Dreams D'azure, but once The Blue came out I got hooked and it motivated me to revisit the previous stuff.

Good review but in my book this is way above 8.0. "Winter 1941" alone is a masterpiece that rivals Opeth's best songs.
