Candlemass - Chapter VI

It's a lot better than Tales Of Creation. And Thomas Vikstrom sounds a bit like Johan Langquist. He's a lot different here than he is in Therion, although there is 18 years between them...
A very underrated album.

I don't consider it underrated, just awful. But that's just me.

I agree with The Troy. I'm not even sure I made it through one sitting of this.

Not their worst, but in comparison to Candlemass' earlier works this is very mediocre. Where is that perfect production? Where are emotions? At least, this album delivers some sensation of impending doom coming your way...

really good albums. Way way way better than this one.

Always been my favourite Candlemass album since vocalist Thomas Vikström is my best friend's dad. I don't know how often we've put on the video to "The Dying Illusion" and mock Thomas for how he looked back then.

I would understand you if you like it because of that fact, but to preffer it over the first 3.... Ewwwwww.

really good albums. Way way way better than this one.

Okay dude, I'll give them another try, though the last time I've listened to them I was very disappointed. Maybe I should check out the lyrics...That worked with me on King Of The Gray Islands, where at first I loved only "Clearsight" and "Of Stars And Smoke" and considered "King" to be a very mediocre album. But this was before I listened carefully to the lyrics, and now it is one of my Candlemass' all time favorites.

Honestly, I haven't given Candlemass a fair chance. "Chapter VI" was kinda forced on me, for obvious reasons. I've heard their classics, but never given them enough attention. I bet it's better than this album. I'll go through their discography soon.

The 4 first albums are really good, this one is awesome too.and it does not suck, nor is the worst album.It rules

As Leif Edling himself stated many times, he regrets ever recording this album. It's not bad, but the best tracks here can't even compare to the band's classic numbers. What is lacking on this record is inspiration (once again, Leif Edling confessed that he saved the best ideas for Abstract Algebra).
Still there are some nice riffs so it's nothing close to a total waste of time. Just, if you want to get acquainted with the band, look elsewhere.

A bit epic after Marcolin left but singer is not made for such genre, somehow his vpoice was soft, a bit Blaze in maiden, somehow it was not so heavy but somehow this is an awesome album, sad last one what I trooly like , what can be classic. I wish they and Mats Laven will work on full length one day

As far as the record is concerned, Troy is right. It is awful. It was extremely tough to listen at one go. Probably one of the worst record by Candlemass.
