Bringer Of Heartsore marks the fifth release by Raventale, a one-man black metal project hailing from Ukraine.

The music is still basically midpaced tempo black metal that shows the influence some other Ukrainian black metal band with which you might be familiar... Dude? Hey Drudkh? Drudkh Looks Like A Lady? You get the idea.

After had more of that "feel" to it. Slightly disappointed

I still haven't listened to this; what would you say is the main difference between this and After?

I would say when I listen to this, I think "kinda cool, quite okay", while on After, I would think the same, but with moments where I sit up and say "this is good stuff". I guess the doom-ish vibe has gone, and the general atmosphere isn't as atmospheric even though it's still meant to be atmospheric. Hope you know what I mean lol

I do and I don't. Atmosphere isn't an easy thing to describe so when two atmospheric albums differ it's difficult to point out what exactly is different about them aside from like, the riffs are different?

haha... atmosphere is hard to pinpoint indeed. Perhaps you will like it though, because for example, I know you like the latest lake of blood a lot, but it did nothing to me at all

I suppose I'll have to listen to it for myself then. Tonight might be a good time to do that actually. I'll let you know if we agree.

Overall I'd say it's much darker, in a more burdensome way. It seems a lot heavier in comparison to After as well, which featured more whimsical melodies and uplifting vibes.

This one builds more despair with its sorrowful riffs. Still a good album but I still prefer After by a long shot. There's some inspiring moments here but too few and far between for what I'm looking for from them.

Eh. I suppose I'm just used to describing different forms of black metal.

First release i've gotten by Raventale and i can say that i really like it. Judging by how people are saying it's not as good as earlier works in his repetoire, i'm intrigued to go back and listen to the previous releases. Which one would someone suggest i should listen to first?

Mortal Aspirations and After are my two personal favorites. Might as well work backwards and start with After.
