This was said to be Chuck Schuldiner's favorite band. You can hear how the intro to Death's "Evil Dead" finds echoes in "Amazone". But this EP is much more than that; it has true reasons to be adored - and it should be adored as the heavy metal gem it is. Sortilège really has a personality. THIS is a nice lesson of French Heavy Metal, in my opinion, a must listen. It's great to revisit this album from time to time.

Songs = good, vocals = not as good, IMO. Based on the five songs (not bonus ones) this is pretty good an album.

Posts: 3333 Written by John_Doe on 04.11.2020 at 12:42 True and if you understand Finnish you'd probably agree on that most lyrics that metal bands write in Finnish sound quite dumb and show that there isn't that many skilled lyricists -- no offense to those who write them though, I'm sure Finnish can be more challenging than English is this respect, even great Finnish poets are rare.
