This is a well-written review, indeed. It got me interested. Although I would suggest you to tone down the "what I feel" references. A review is in fact your perspective on the album summed up in 3-4 paragraphs and this review, at least to someone new like me, seems encouraging yet this can turn it into a refined review.

thanks, I did change some wording and sentences when it got proofread and It asked me for approval, but the edit I did didn't stay after I hit submit. and the review got submitted as it was. some kind of a bug I guess, anyways I am satisfied with my 'first review here.

Nice review, but I agree with Behrad (Monolithic) about the subjectivity. Being more objective in your statements is better in case of a review. I do have a few comments:

"it's a concept album and in my opinion one of the best doom albums I have listened to in a while"

Huh? Whose else opinion can it be but your own?

Also found this part of a sentence rather weird: "oh and this song has a piano solo in it.. yeah."

Anyway, I totally agree with "Leaving This Land of Eternal Desires" being a masterpiece of a song. In fact, I think it's my favourite Desire song, despite Locus Horrendus being my favourite album by them. I would also rate this about a 9.0 so you nailed it with the rating as well. Just check out Locus Horrendus. It's basically this album, but then longer, darker, more haunting and has much more of a personality to it. You'll love it (I'd be surprised if you didn't).

thanks for the criticisms, but just to redeem myself a bit, i did quite a few changes on wording and expression on some sentences but because of what I think is a bug they didn't appear on the final thing.

And yes, god damn is that song a highlight of highlights of the entire doom genre. As for the rating I stand by it. I'm going to use it as a reference point from now on. For example. In my other profile I rated Paradise Belongs To You a perfect 10. Now that I think of it in perspective of other reviewers' work I've studied (for example Apothecary <3) I should never have given it over 9.6 because It isn't perfect, I can't say that I like every single fucking thing in that album. Same goes for Katatonia's Brave Murder Day which is another album from my (possible) top 10 albums ever.
