Slightly weaker than the preceding How Will I Laugh Tomorrow... This is very original sounding music especially in the thrash genre. The instrumental work is great, vocals sound original and there is plenty of fine songs. You Can't Bring Me Down, Alone and Get Whacked are my favorites and generally the songwriting is really good. I didn't always find the album as good as now; after a few listens a row I got more impressed.

It's amazing to see how quickly they have matured from the the previous album to craft such a layered yet catchy piece of music. It's like Disc II of How will i laugh tomorrow but even better!!

I don't quite get why people tend to bash on this album in general. It's still the classic line-up and maybe somewhat more of an experimental album, yet it is still their best as How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today (somebody should shorten this album title as it's a chore to write it) is.

Absolutely! This album gets way more flak than it deserves, probably due to the release after first 3 gems. This album is still Suicidal at their peak—tight musicianship, killer solos, and a matured sound that keeps things fresh and stayed true to their intensity.

Do people really bash this album though? If so I wasn't aware of any flak this record receives. I mean it's a staple of the genre. Pretty sure the consensus is that this album is pretty awesome. Just the ratings on here even demonstrate that... I mean an 8.5 for over 200 votes is a clear sign of a very successful or classic album for MS standards.

It’s definitely inferior to their hardcore albums for sure. You Can’t Bring Me Down is the only thing I like on this.

I think How Will I Laugh Tomorrow… is a better example of their thrash side.

I never got into this album, prefer the debut over it. And I am also with Monkey in that How Will I Laugh is the example of their thrashy side. But I think it's time for me to give Lights Camera a respin because it has been some time.

Sometimes I get what you guys say and agree but now there seems to be some disagreement. I think it's their best album with How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today. And as genre I wouldn't call it just thrash because it's already more in to that later musical direction the band took afterwards. Different strokes for different folks, I guess

I was following the lyrics while listening to the album and was laughing my ass off. Really good thrash/hardcore album.
