Diabulus In Musica seems to be one of those low-key bands that do things in a subtle way. There isn't much gushing or complaining about them, and their latest album had almost slipped by me. Perhaps it's the rather generic sounding band name, most potential listeners would dismiss them and not give them a chance when they actually already have two (TWO!!) much coveted nominations in the annual Metal Storm Awards under their belt.

As a huge lover of symphonic metal, I've been curious about Diabulus In Musica ever since they emerged, but the truth is they never really captured much of my attention and Argia proves there's a reason for that.

Possibly the greatest symphonic album ever??? A huge epic - powerful, musically complex and original.

When I started "Argia" I didn't knew what to expect since the first songs were just so diferent that I found myself shifting from band to band trying to settle on ONE band for this to be simillar. Nightwish, Within Temptation and Epica are some of the ones that came to my mind and I dont find this negative to compare bands, since its a compliment to say this band is making music that can be compared to these worldwide pillars of the genre.

Some songs just seem too simillar, for example, "From the Embers" and "Inner Force" kind of feel like just one song, since the choruses and reffrains share some key elements. Also, the male gutural voice its just plain horrible, certainly something to improve in the future. Kudos for "Furia de Libertad", nice to see they're incorporating their native language in the music.

Overall, quite enjoyable

I agree completely. I like guttural vocals in symphonic metal, but this guy sounds like the cookie monster, and I can't shake that visualization when I listen to this band...

Is this better or worse than their other 2 albums?

...musically complex and original.

I'd like to purchase whatever it is you're smoking from your local dealer.

Also, the vocals are woefully weak and feature a saccharine amount of vibrato

I thought Zuberoa's vocals were one of the few redeeming features. Love or hate the style, that woman can sing.

As for Gorka, well...
