Some serious Opeth worship going on here, but well executed. I wish the band had stayed together (I'm assuming they didn't since it's been five years now) long enough to find their own sound and experiment a little bit, because I think the results would have been well worth listening to.

But if you liked MAYH/Still Life/BWP-era Opeth then I would definitely recommend tracking this one down.

Thankfully, they're still active and they're hoping to finish a new album this year (according to their facebook page).

Thanks for the info. It'll be really interesting to hear what they come up with given the time between albums. Definitely gonna be checking that one out.

Very good album, but just not enough memorable moments on it to warrant more than an 8/10 IMO.

Been with me since I discovered it a few years back. How this is not a widely acclaimed record is beyond me. The first half of New Setting breaks the flow, hence 9, but the rest is impeccable. The title track and Canvas for Departure give me literal goosebumps every time.
