It's really quite good. Can't really pinpoint any specific reasons why, it's not massively original or out there, but it's fairly individualistic and they more or less justify the time they allot themselves with good sound, interesting songs with doomy and foreboding melodies, non-clichéd atmospheric bm proclivities and nice use of soloing. It's just high quality modern take on an older style of black metal that doesn't ape Deathspell Omega for once. How rare. Also get many shades of early Wolves in the Throne Room, but totally not in a mimicking fashion.

I agree! Yes, it has all the usual older BM ingredients more or less, but it also has that not-over-the-top avantgarde edge and progression, which makes it unique in its own way. And vocals of Silenius (Summoning) are perfect as always!

Still a damn fine record. Didn't realise that about the vocalist. They sound quite Cobalt-ish here.

These guys draw many influences but still retain a unique sound. It feels sort of ritualistic, hard to grasp at first listen but once you've dug into these huge and elegant compositions you can find a lot of earworms. I also love how its production, raw, simple, yet powerful and resonant. A hidden gem for sure.

Still sounds very fresh to me. It's hard to point out what's unique, but they really develop a proper identity. Plus some great atmosphere, songwriting and vocals. Definitely was on my top of 2015 list.
