Pyramaze is a new young combo of Power/Prog metal from Denmark. A new combo?, no THE new combo of Power Metal. There is a ton of new bands that do such music each days but believe me that this time it's not a poor copy of the masters of the genre, no, we have certainly with Pyramaze one of the best newcomer of the year. Good melodies, great riffs and especially a great vocalist with Lance King [ex Balance of Power], if you like true and great Power metal, please guys, take some minutes to read this review because you could regret to miss the first album of this excellent new band.

It was a great surprise to discover this band. Gives me a Queensryche feeling.

Never gets boring. Whenever I play it, I have to play it all. The first 2 Pyramaze albums are just so great.

I remember way back when, I reviewed Immortal as per a user request, and in doing my research I listened to their previous releases in order to get a sense of what to expect and what type of changes had occurred across their time as a band.

Their style was never something that appealed to me, but I do remember their first two albums seeming much more focused and energetic. By the time Immortal was released, it was like they lost a step in the creative process, playing it too safe and by the numbers -- even for a genre that by all accounts at that point had counted to infinity.

That said, those are still albums I have no problem suggesting to people looking for solid 2000s era power metal. Lance King's vocals alone are worth the listen.

I am not much for progressive, but this album is something special, eeven after 16 years listening to it oftenly it still sounds fanastic!

also the album art is inredible, beautiful art and very symbolic

The soundtrack of my teen years and it still works as a charm, not a weak moment to find here.

I find this album so underwhelming compared to the two that follow it. They really matured as a band yet this one seems to always be spoken in the same breath as LOTBC, which is just criminal.

Sorry, this one is just weak imo. I really like their last three albums, so much more melodic and heavy, with miles better vocals. So surprised how mad people got over the evolution of the sound. Yes, call it generic. I infinitely prefer the last three. They're like a breath of fresh air.

With you.... maybe we're just listening to it at the wrong time, I realize that people actually have a more emotional connection with the album haha
